Ospreay has been out of action since he suffered a neck injury in May. Due to the injury, he was forced to vacate the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship and has not wrestled since.
He made a surprise return at New Japan’s Resurgence show on August 14 in The Torch at L.A. Coliseum, Los Angeles, California. He announced he is now medically cleared to compete but will not compete in the upcoming G1 Climax tournament, as well as that New Japan’s America-based STRONG brand will be his new home.
Ospreay could wrestle at New Japan’s STRONG television taping tonight in Thunder Studio in Long Beach, California, but any such plans have not been announced. As it stands, his match against Williams in RevPro on Saturday will be his first bout since May.
