MLW NEWS AND NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2021-08-09 12:00:00

The expectation going forward is that at some point this fall, MLW will soon have two different series, one being MLW Fusion and the other being the Azteca Underground brand.  The belief is that Cesar Duran (the former Dario Cueto) will bounce back and forth between the two shows but they will be kept mostly separate beyond that, at least at first.  MLW had an office set for Duran backstage at their most recent TV taping in Philadelphia, PA.   MLW will be airing their Fusion: Alpha mini-series online, bridging storylines from now through their "new" season.

MLW has released new t-shirts for Aramis, EJ Nduka, Hammerstone, The Von Erichs and 5150 Street Foreva, which appears to be the name Konnan's new crew will be going by.  They were introduced as the new LAX initially at the most recent TV taping, but since then that name hasn't been utilized.

Julius Smokes has signed with MLW full-time.  It is FAR beyond time someone hired him full-time and put him to work as a personality.

The Von Erichs vs. Team Filthy in the War Chamber will headline the 9/11 return to Dallas, Texas at the The NYTEX Sports Centre.  For tickets, visit www.MLWDallas.com.

The same date, The Crash Lucha Libre will hold its first show since the start of the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic in the 4,500-seat Auditorio de Tijuana, co-promoted with Major League Wrestling’s Azteca Underground brand, so that content will obviously migrate to MLW programming as well.  No talents have been announced yet for that event.

MLW has dates for 10/2 and 11/6 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, so it would appear that will be the promotion's home base through the end of the year.

BeIN Sport will air the MLW Anthology episode on CONTRA this Saturday evening.

If you missed it over the weekend, IWA Puerto Rico uploaded the August 7 episode of its weekly Impacto Total programme, headlined by Major League Wrestling star Richard Holliday defending the IWA World Heavyweight Championship against Aiden Grimm.
