MALAKAI VS. CODY, JUVENTUD VS. JERICHO & MORE: AEW DYNAMITE: HOMECOMING REPORT

We are live for AEW Homecoming and JR, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur send us right to the ring.

Third Labor of Jericho: Juventued Guerrera vs Chris Jericho

Quick action to kick things off, Jericho gets kicked to the outside, tope con hillo by Juvi, more like a legdrop. Juvi sends him back for 2.  Juvi with a back elbow and Jericho backdrops him off the top.  Jericho with chops on the outside, he throws him back in. Jericho with a cross body off the top for 2.  Juvi with kicks but Jericho with a chop to the throat.  Kick to Jericho, Juvi gets a 2.  Chops by Juvi he nails a pair of kicks to the head.  Rings of Saturn by Juvi.  Jericho makes the ropes and nails a shoulderblock.  Jericho off the top with a double axehandle for 2.  Jericho punches him and hits a double underhook backbreaker.  Jericho goes for the mask.

MJF has joined the booth.

Juvi goes for a hurancanrana off the top but Jericho drops him and applies the Walls of Jericho.  Juvi makes the ropes.  Juvi counters a powerbomb with a DDT.  Juvi Driver for 2.  Jericho nails the Judas Effect but, remember, he needs to hit a move from the top.  Jericho with a Judas Effect off the top and Le Champion scores the pin.

WINNER: Chris Jericho

Wardlow attacks Jericho from behind.  He hits the F10 on Juvi and nails a Casualty of War.  MJF has the house mic.  Labor #4 will be Wardlow.  Wardlow will be accompanied by MJF at ringside.  It seems like MJF will be the referee in that one.

Dasha Gonzalez is with the Lucha Bros.  Alex Abrahantes accuses Andrade of delaying Pac.  Andrade wants a thank you for the limo last week.  Fenix reminds Andrade that they don't work for him. Penta refuses a thank you.

Tony Schiavone is with the Dark Order.  They and Adam Page are despondent after losing last week.  Page says that from now, they go their separate ways. Evil Uno says to give him his space.

Darby Allin. Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston w/Sting vs. 2.0 (Matt Lee and Jeff Parker) and Danny Garcia

• Darby starts off with Garcia. Darby with a headlock, Garcia with a legsweep, Darby with a cricifix for 1.
• Matt Lee tags himself in and elbows Allin
• Allin with a dropkick off of a charge
• Kingston tags in and and Lee chops him.
• Eddie immediately fires back and stomps him in his corner.
• Moxley chokes Lee in the corner.  
• Chop block by Lee, Parker tags in
• Back from commercial and 2.0 blocks the tag.  Moxley doesn't care as he attacks on the outside
• Moxley tags in and nails a suplex
• Paradigm Shift, he tags in Allin, who nails a coffin drop for the pin.

WINNERS: Darby Allin, Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston.

We get a pre taped promo from NEW FTW world Champion Ricky Starks, who does not appreciate Brian Cage interrupting her celebration last week.

The Elite are backstage and are celebrating their 5 on 5 win last week.  The Good Brothers have accepted an Impact Tag Team Title match against the Dark Order next week. The Young Bucks declare that there's no one else to challenge them.  Kenny Omega orders the basketball net nearby to be cut down in celebration.

Christian Cage vs. The Blade w/The Bunny

Cage attacks on the ramp.  Blade with a knee and he fires away with forearms.  Kick to the gut by Christian, Blade rolls out.  Cage gives chase but the Bunny blocks him.  Blade comes up from behind but Cage punches him.  Cage to the top, Bunny grabs the leg and Leyla Hirsch pulls her off and they fight away to the back.  DDT by Christian.  Cage slingshots him across the top as we go to commercial.

We're back and it's Blade driving his boot into Cage's neck.  Blade with stomps in the corner.  He fires away with forearms in the corner but Cage sidesteps a charge and Blade to the outside.  Cage leaps over the post and nails an axehandle.  Cage is favoring his knee.  Back in the ring, Cage with a series of right hands and a 15 count of punches in the corner.  Uppercut by Christian.  Sunset flip for 2 by Cage.  Flying uppercut by Cage, Blade blocks the Killswitch.  Blade with a powerslam for 2. Gourdbuster by Blade followed by a running knee.  Blade grabs the knux but Christian with a spear for the pin.

WINNER: Christian Cage

We get a video package of the bad blood between FTR and Santana and Ortiz

Tony Schiavone introduces AEW Women's Champion Dr. Britt Baker, DMD w/Rebel and her crutch.  Baker ALMOST gets a sentence out before Red Velvet comes in the ring to issue a challenge.  Baker accepts since she beat Velvet in 3 minutes.  Baker accepts for the debut episode of Rampage, next Friday night. Rabel misses a crutch swing but Baker with a kick and chokes Velvet with the crutch and struts off.

Dasha is with Andrade and Chavo Guerrero, who introduces Fuego Del Sol.  Chavo wants Fuego to shine Adrade's shoes.  Fuego refuses and Andrade beats him up, throwing him into the wall.

Tony Schiavone is back in the ring and brings out Hangman Page.  Page doesn't get a sentence out and out comes The Elite.  Page has something to say to them. Omega mocks him for looking for new friends and calls him a "try hard", a failure.  The Elite attack and Page eats a Magic Killer and a BTE Trigger. The Dark Order come out but Grayson and Uno hold them back, in accordance with Page's wishes.  Frankie Kazarian comes out to help but he gets beat down.  The Elite lay out Page with a belt shot.

Dan Lambert of MMA's American Top Team wants revenge on Lance Archer.

TNT Championship: Miro (TNT Champion) vs. Lee Johnson w/Dustin Rhodes

Clothesline by Miro, big right hand by the champion.  Shoulderblocks by Miro in the corner. Johnson flails away and Miro nails hard forearms.  Leg kick by Johnson and a roundhouse kick.  Miro catches  across body and slams him down.  He goes for the Accolade but Johnson scurries out of the ring as we go to commercial.

We're back and Miro has a bearhug on the challenger.  He lets Johnson chop away.  Johnson hits a DDT out of nowhere.  Johnson with right hands a trio of dropkicks.  Johnson with a pair of tope suicidas.  Miro tries to catch him on the third but can't hold him.  Johnson with a cross body for 1.  Lee tries clotheslines and escapes a release German Suplex.  Kicks by Johnson, he goes to the top and nails a frog splash for 2.  Miro grabs the throat but Johnson with an enziguiri.  Miro with a side kick and puts the challenger out with the Accolade.

WINNER: Miro (retains TNT Championship)

Miro forgives Johnson for his insolence.  

Taz, Excalibur, Chris Jericho and Mark Henry will be the commentators for AEW Rampage

Tony Schiavone is backstage with Christian Cage, who is formally announced as the #1 contender for the AEW World Title.  He asks about Leyla Hirsch, who he offered to be at ringside for, but she has "Best Friends".

NWA Women's Title Eliminator: The Bunny w/The Blade, Private Party, TH2 vs. Legit Leyla Hirsch w/Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor, Kris Statlander and Yheeler Yuta

If I'm not mistaken, the winner her challenges Kamille for the NWA Championship at Empowerrr on August 28th from St. Louis.  We're told this match is a result of Serena Deeb's injury.  Leyla goes for a cross ambreaker but Bunny rolls out and suffers a tope.  Hirsch sends her back in and immediately goes bacl to the arm.  Back elbow  by Hirsch but Sole food by Bunny.  Bunny sends her out and nails a running dropkick. Bunny confronts Kamille at Ringside as we go to commercial.

We are back and Bunny is laying the boots to Hirsch.  She goes to the top but Hirsch with a series of forearms. Hirsch with a superplex. Nyla Rose has come to ringside for some reason.  Hirsch and Bunny slug it out.  Knee to the guy by Bunny but a pair of German Suplexes by Hirsch.  Double knees in the corner for 2 by Hirsch.  Hirsch with the cross armbreaker, Bunny escapes but eats a big knee Leyla misses a moonsault and Bully with a Death Valley Driver for 2.  Leyla slaps on the cross armbreaker and Bunny taps out.

WINNER: Leyla Hirsch

Kamille enters the ring and they have a stare down.  Kamille vs. Leyla Hirsch? YES PLEASE

Jade Cargill with Mark Sterling in the back.  They've been busy diversifying with Hollywood and sponsorships.

Cody Rhodes w/Dustin Rhodes vs. Malakai Black

The announcers pay tribute to Jody Hamilton.  Lockup, go behind by Black, Cody slips out.  Single leg by Cody, big leg kick by Black. a pair or elbows by Cody but a knee bar by Black. Cody reverses into a spinning toe hold but Black with an eye rake.  Leg sweep into a single leg by Black, Cody makes the rope.  Cody is slumped in the rope.  He tries a Cross Rhodes but Black with a knee.  Cody tries the top rope but Black with a spin kick sends Cody through the timekeepers table.  Cody barely beats the count.  Black Mass by Black, he puts his foot over Cody and scores the pin.

WINNER: Malakai Black

THAT is how you debut someone.

Tony Schiavone comes to the ring to talk to Cody.  Cody is as shocked as we are.  He's in tears as he gets back to his feet.  He shakes Tony's hand and sends him off.  Cody talks about meeting Kenny and the Bucks.  He talks about being laughed at when they thought up AEW.  He says he loves his fellow EVPs and will always be tethered to them.  He puts over Dailey's Place.  Cody thanks the fans.  He loves them very much.  He takes off his boots but Black returns and nails Cody with a crutch.
