Deadline.com reported today that Apple acquired the rights to the spy film Argyle, the next film from writer and director Matthew Vaughn.
The film, based on spy novel Argylle from author Ellie Conway, follows “the world’s greatest spy” ‘Argylle’ as he is caught up in a globe-trotting adventure and is slated to be the first film in a planned trilogy. Apple is believed to have paid $200 million for the rights.
WWE's John Cena has been announced as part of the cast. There is no word what role he will be playing yet.
Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara and Samuel L. Jackson have also been announced for the film.
