WWE RAW REPORT: IMPROMPTU MATCHES, CHALLENGES ACCEPTED, THE NXT CURSE CONTINUES, THE HOMETOWN STREAK CONTINUES, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2021-08-02 22:59:00

We are in Chicago, Illinois and your announcers are Byron Saxton, Jimmy Smith, and Corey Graves.

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley makes his way to the ring with Montel Vontavious Porter.

Porter wants to know where everyone has been.  He says everybody is excited to see Goldberg but before he comes out here, Bobby wants him to address a few things.

Goldberg shows up, uninvited to challenge Bobby for his WWE Championship.  Bobby has not dignified that challenge with a response.  Without question, Goldberg is an icon.  He is still capable of anihilating any man on any night.  That is the problem.  Goldberg did not challenge 'any man', he challenged the All Mighty.  Goldberg is a gladiator and he is used to going into the coliseum and crushing that gladiator.  Bobby is an unstoppable monster.

Porter says he is trying to stop a tragedy from happening.

The crowd chants for Goldberg.  Porter says if Lashley accepts Goldberg's challenge it won't end well.  It could be the last match of his career.  Porter asks Bill if he wants to be remembered as a champion or a casualty?

Goldberg's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Goldberg tells Lashley he wants to get something straight.  If anybody should be worried about losing something, it is YOU losing the WWE Championship.  After listening to your intro, you are nothing but scared.  You look scared, as he looks at Lashley.  Goldberg says Lashley is a high level athlete and a gladiator, but high level athlete, you question yourself.  A gladiator who shows weakness.  The first time you saw me come down to the ring, you thought I was the victim walking into your coliseum.  This is not your coliseum, this is Chicago.  They can smell fear a mile away.  You either crapped your pants or you are scared out of your mind.  It doesn't matter if I am 35, 45, or 105, Goldberg will always be Goldberg.  Goldberg lives by the spear and you, champ, will die by the spear.  That is why you are next.

Goldberg walks to the back and Porter points out Goldberg's son to Lashley.

Lashley walks up to Goldberg's son.  Porter tells him that Lashley is going to end his father's career.  It will be his last match.
