WILDKAT WRESTLING RETURNS TO LOUSIANA THIS SATURDAY

 

On Saturday, July 31st, after an eighteen month hiatus, WildKat Sports & Entertainment returns with LIVE professional wrestling in Metairie, Louisiana.

The premiere professional wrestling school and promotion for the greater New Orleans area, WildKat Sports is also celebrating its 10 year anniversary, so this return as the first WildKat event of 2021 since the Pandemic is particularly momentous. 

"We're back!" exclaimed Luke Hawx, the man behind WildKat Sports, when WildKat was given the go ahead to begin running events from the Louisiana State Athletic commission. 

The Pandemic affected small businesses like independent wrestling promotions the hardest, as live events are the life blood of their industry. "Like so many other businesses, Covid put a hurting on us! Everyone asked, 'When is WildKat coming back?' Well after so many hoops we had to jump through, we officially announced that we are returning on July 31st," said Hawx.

With the all clear on live events, and a return date set, the elite competitors of WildKat's roster were clamoring to be on this stacked card. "Matt Lancie is 100% cleared" announced the then WildKat General Manager Matt Lancie, who took the position of WildKat GM after suffering a knee injury at the end of 2019. Lancie was able to rehab during the time in shutdown, and now looks to return to in-ring competition come July 31st. When we last saw Lancie, he was the WKS Heavyweight Champion as well as the Revolution Champion. After being forced to vacate those Championships, arduous rehab and time away from the ring, where will the Outlaw's focus lie?

It's been eighteen months since the last live WildKat event. The promotion hasn't slowed in that time. During the last year's hiatus, much of the roster contributed to and will appear in the upcoming STARZ series "HEELS" which premieres on August 15th. The school also continued to train the next crop of young professional wrestlers, who now are chomping at the bit to debut for the promotion with the return of live events.

After so long away, the only people possibly more eager than the WildKat Superstars for this 1st show are the WildKat fans. With a rich and deep rooted history, professional wrestling is a beloved sport in the South. Finally, on July 31st, professional wrestling will make its triumphant return!
