If you have been a fan of WWE for a long time, you probably remember the time Roman Reigns was voted as the most hated and overrated wrestler of 2016. He still is always being assessed by his fans, some trying to defend him, while others can not wait for him to quit. Watching WWE is like playing at an online casino; you never know what may happen. A loved player may fall from the spotlight in just one second. Following are the voted top three overrated wrestlers of 2016.

1 Roman Reigns

Now let us put our cards on the table. We all knew that Roman Reigns was the only possible contender who was the most overrated WWE Superstar on the list. Why shouldn't it be so? Nobody claims he could not wrestle, wait, yes they were! In fact, the vast majority recited it every night. But honestly, it was not that he literally could not wrestle, it was more that he could not wrestle the style that WWE fans have been demanding for years. Not to mention, his mic work was just terrible. Maybe he'd have a little more success with the spoken word if he could just be himself, but the scripted promo was not something that benefited this boring, dry man's robot speech. Additionally, Roman Reigns was the very last member of The Shield that the WWE Universe wanted to achieve success for, and it was clear from day one that this was the exact opposite of how the WWE itself saw things. They wanted Roman at the helm from the moment The Shield debuted and the crowd was outraged in every possible way.

No matter how hard WWE tried, Roman Reigns always failed to achieve the desired audience response. It was up to the company to shoot itself in the foot for years and to consistently ignore the fans' demands for a new race of athletes. Wrestlers like Daniel Bryan are always looking for the bigger, more marketable guys. Wrestling fans are not idiots. We know when the company is trying to manipulate our response. The only reaction is to let them know how much we dislike what they are trying to feed us.

And that's exactly why Roman Reigns failed so miserably and why he was voted as the most overrated WWE wrestler in 2016, as well as the most hated one.

2 Eva Marie

Ask the WWE Universe to detail why they turned down Eva Marie so extremely and could likely write you a novel. There is no doubt that the novel keeps repeating the word "You Can't Wrestle!". Fans just could not get enough of telling the crimson beauty how terrible she was in the ring. Because it really was so Not to say the audience was not too tough for her. Eva Marie signed a contract for a ton of money and did exactly what she was told to do, which was to learn how to wrestle in front of the whole world. But, boy, is the company convinced of its pulling power or what? The notion that Eva could at some point be a star is likely a holdover from the now-buried Divas division, but WWE still seems to be holding on to that hope.

No one really can figure out how anyone in WWE looked at this girl with no charisma or physical energy and thought that with enough training she could become a world-class athlete. We could make the argument that she gets great heel warmth, but that's just because people think she is so bad that they want to exploit her in front of the TV and in front of the actual wrestlers. Despite the reduction in TV time, Eva Marie obviously still has the WWE roots for her, which is good because that's about the support she'll get.

3 Big Show

You can probably rely on a three-fingered hand to count the number of professional wrestlers who will ever compete at a size larger than Big Show. He became known as The Giant in WCW in the '90s and later joined WWE, where he had wrestled for over a decade and a half. You would think Big Show could not be anything but threatening, but the truth is, he's not been an intimidating figure since his WCW days. His WWE career got off to a pretty rough start when one of his earliest storylines saw him being constantly fooled by Undertaker, who at the time talked endlessly about how Big Show could be a real monster if he only knew how. It was obvious Show never figured it out and the angle was going nowhere.

Big shows had its share of World Championships, but it was used at times by other, smaller wrestlers as speeding for success throughout his entire tenure in WWE, so no one really found it that powerful. Big shows world titles were always considered a consolation prize that WWE presented him out of respect. To this day, Big Show is only used when someone else needs to look their best, and it has been for most of his career.
