JAY WHITE ARRIVES IN IMPACT WRESTLING, DDT'S PETER PAN TAKES SHAPE AND MORE FROM JAPAN

New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Jay White appeared at the end of Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary pay-per-view last night to stare down All Elite Wrestling superstar and Impact World Championship holder Kenny Omega.

David Finlay and Juice Robinson (who defeated Madman Fulton and Shiba in an unscheduled match earlier in the night) came to the ring after the show went off the air but White attacked Finlay.

White is scheduled to attempt his first defense of the NEVER Openweight Championship against Finlay at New Japan’s Resurgence show on August 14 in The Torch at L.A. Coliseum, Los Angeles, California.

White also has a noteworthy history with Omega. At New Japan’s New Year Dash!! show on January 5, 2018 (exactly two months after White returned from excursion with the Switchblade gimmick), Omega offered White a spot in Bullet Club.

Instead, White attacked Omega and joined Kazuchika Okada’s CHAOS faction at a press conference the next day.

At New Beginning in Sapporo on January 28, 2018, White defeated Omega to win the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship (currently held by Jon Moxley).

Later in the year, after King Haku, Tama Tonga and Tanga attacked attacked Omega as well as former Bullet Club members “Hangman” Adam Page, Cody, Marty Scurll, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson to exile them from the faction (Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi were also attacked but later reconciled with Bullet Club) at New Japan’s G1 Special in San Francisco show on July 7, 2018, White assumed leadership of the faction at King of Pro-Wrestling on October 8, 2018.

New Japan will hold its fourth Summer Struggle tour show tomorrow in Ryugasaki City General Gymnasium.

Kota Ibushi was scheduled to team with Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Master Wato and Satoshi Kojima against BUSHI, SANADA, Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito in the main event, but will miss the show due to illness. Yuji Nagata will take his place.
