HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF A 30-MINUTE LUNCH BREAK

By Kendall Jenkins on 2021-07-16 06:42:00

Do you work at a job where you get thirty minutes for your lunch break? After eating your food, do you often feel a little bored with nothing to do? Maybe you are tired of scrolling through social media or watching TikTok for the rest of your lunch break and want to do something a little bit more fun. The good news is that even if you only have access to your phone while you are on your lunch, there are plenty of fun and interesting options to consider for a little bit more excitement than scrolling Twitter.

Play a Game

Today, smartphone gaming is easier than ever with tons of games that you can download to and play on your phone, so it’s no surprise that this is one of the top ways to pass your time on your lunch break. Whether you enjoy playing shooting games like Fortnite, strategy games like Words With Friends or Tetris, or casino games like poker and blackjack, all you need is a smartphone and in some cases, an internet connection. Play on your own or with friends to wind down and relax on your lunch break before going back to work.

Read

While you might not be able to cram an entire book into a thirty-minute lunch break, it’s a great time to spend catching up on that latest book that you’re reading. You could go old-school and bring a paperback novel into work in your bag, or embrace technology and download all the books that you want to read to your smartphone so that you can easily catch up on the latest chapter wherever you are. If you prefer listening to your books, download the Audible app and bring your headphones into work.

Catch Up with Friends

Catching up with friends can be a fun way to spend your lunch break if you feel that you have been working a lot lately and haven’t had much time to socialise with people outside of work. In your lunch break, give your friends a text or call to see how they are doing or set up a group video chat with your friends in advance if you all get a lunch break at the same time. You can chat about what you’ve been up to or even play an online game together on your phones.

Watch a Show Episode

A sitcom or other TV show that has short, snappy episodes of 20-30 minutes can be a great way to spend the time on your lunch break, and there are loads of options available on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, both of which you can easily download onto your phone to use when you’re on your lunch. If you don’t want to use up all your internet allowance streaming video on your lunch break, you can download the episodes that you want to watch over Wi-Fi beforehand so that you can watch them offline.

If your lunch breaks are becoming increasingly boring, these are just some ideas to consider to fill the time.
