WWE NXT UK REPORT: WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR WALTER/DRAGUNOV II, SATOMURA VERSUS AMALE, BATE VERSUS MARK COFFEY, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2021-07-15 19:05:00

We begin with the graphic In Memory of Paul Orndorff.

Triple H mentions that on October 29, 2020, NXT UK brought a match that the WWE Universe still talks about. It was a match so intense that it defined the brand and redefined brutality. We will see the rematch between WALTER and Ilja Dragunov. WALTER is the longest reigning current champion and has dominated this brand for over 800 days. He has defended the title in the UK and US. Ilja Dragunov is an enigma. One of the most intense and most dedicated to walk inside the squared circle.

We are in London, England and your announcers are Andy Shepherd and Nigel McGuinness.

We go to the ring for the press conference for WALTER/Dragunov II and it is hosted by Sid Scala.

He says this is the most anticipated match in brand history. Sid mentions that there will be no physicality tonight.

The first question is for WALTER. He is asked about champion for more than 800 days and if the reign is under threat.

WALTER says he does not think his mission is under threat. The difference between him and Ilja is that he is in this for the greater good and the reputation of this sport. Every time I step in the ring, it is an honor for me to represent the sport of professional wrestling the way myself and everyone in Imperium thinks it should be done. Ilja is a fantastic athlete, but he does not have the mental ability to step up to my level. I will have to prove this.

Ilja is asked what has he learned since last October.

Ilja says he has had some very dark days and it has been a rough time. If you step into matches and you lose, you learn from the losses. Failures like this don’t hurt you like a strike. They hurt your mind and you can’t forget. You feel the pain and the memories haunt you. I lost control. I found myself again and I needed to learn from that match and now I am prepared.

The next question is for both men. He asks what to expect from next week.
Ilja says you will expect brutality, violence, and intensity like I promised. This match will forget what the word violence means because our match will replace this word. Ilja tells WALTER to overcome his God complex.

WALTER wants to know what Ilja means. WALTER says he redefines the sport every time he walks in the ring. He has seen enough of Ilja feeling sad about himself. He calls Ilja a fraud and says that he is all show. You are not on my level. All of your displays of intensity is show. You want to grab the attention of everyone else to get where you are now.

WALTER tells Ilja to look at him and he yells at him in German.

Ilja says he thought it was enough last time. I thought all my strength and stamina was enough to beat you, but it wasn’t. I have big respect for you when you step into the ring. After what you did to me, on purpose, the respect is gone. All that is left is hate. I hate you WALTER. I hate you for what you did and that you broke something inside me. Next week, I will break you in this ring and I will walk out with the NXT UK Championship or I won’t walk at all.

WALTER asks if that is so.

They talk to each other in German and then go nose to nose.

We go to Subculture.

Mark says he is feeling deja vu. Flash mentions that Mark beat a tag champion in a singles match to get a tag title match and then he beat Lewis Howley last week to get a title match. Next week, history will repeat itself. Dani says they will become the first two time NXT UK Tag Champions.

We go to commercial.
