FIGHT ON THE FARM & MORE: RING OF HONOR TV REPORT

Our lovely host, Quinn McKay, welcomes us to this week's VERY unique episode.  It's the FIGHT ON THE FARM between Jay and Mark Briscoe, demanded by Papa Briscoe to hopefully settle the tension between the two.  We go back to last week when Quinn caught up with new ROH title #1 contender Bandido.  He wants Rush and those 2 are on a collision course for Best in the World.

Speaking of big matches, we've got a title match to kick us off.

Fred Yehi and Jonathan Gresham review their long and winding history ahead of tonight's match.  Gresham is so good as the guy who KNOWS how great he is but wants nothing more than for everyone to be on level of both skill and honor.

Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman have the call of the action. They're joined by the challenger for the Pure Title at Best in the World, Mike Bennett

ROH Pure Championship: Jonathan Gresham (champion) vs Fred Yehi

This match one fall with a 60 minute time limit.  That's important considering only 3 rope breaks.  Very different thinking with a 60 minute match as opposed to 15.  Code of Honor adhered to. Referee is Todd Sinclair. No lockup, more of position jockeying, Gresham with a front facelock, he gets blocked trying a single leg.  Arm twist by Gresham, Yehi reverses and takes him down by the ankle.  They trade standing switches and they seperate.  Test of strength, they again trade standing switches.  Double wristlock takedown by Gresham.  Back to a standing position, Yehi takes him down with a wristlock and goes to work on the left hamstring, Gresham with a takedown small package for 2.  Wristlock by Yehi, he slams Gresham down and applies the pressure on the arm.  Gresham back to his feet, he slaps on a headlock but gets taken down by a headscissors.  Yehi and Gresham trade hiptoss attempts until they both go over the top rope at the 5 minute mark.  They stare each other down as we go to commercial.

They're back in the ring and Yehi with a hiptoss and they're tied up in the ropes.  Sinclair breaks without charging either with a rope break.  Lockup, they break in the corner.  Another lockup, another tie up in the ropes.  There's some frustration on Gresham's part.  This is a very agressive match.  Gresham rakes his forearm across Yehi's eyes.  Yehi takes him down.  Gresham gets to his feet and the action quickens.  They exchange open palm strikes and rollups.  Yehi escapes an armbar and apples a reverse bearhug.  Gresham rolls him up for 2.  Arm twist reversals.

Ten minutes have elapsed.

Neither of these guys can get a sustained advantage. They're both getting real frustrated.  Yehi scores a series of 2's off a test of strength.  Gresham reverses the wrist advantage Yehi had.  Yehi with a single leg but Gresham with a headscissors for 2.  Arm drag by Gresham into a headscissors again with a leg hook for 2.  Gresham turns an armdrag into a crucifix for the pin.

Gresham shoves the belt in Yehi's face before the post match code of honor.

Quinn McKay catches up with the Pure Champion, who agrees that Yehi was an amazing challenger.  Gresham reminds us that he's 10-0 in Pure wrestling since its relaunch.  Gresham is ready for Mike Bennett, but the champion does not believe Bennett has earned this spot.

We hear from Papa Briscoe.  It's time for his boys to get back on the same page.  Only way to do it?  Settle it on the farm.  The Briscoes let us know what they're gonna do to each other.

Fight on the Farm: Jay Briscoe vs. Mark Briscoe

There is a parental advisory before our main event.  Papa Briscoe opens the garage door and the 2 enter the makeshift ring.  Papa Bucks instructions: Keep it clean and fight like men.  Looks like dad is the ref.  A furious exchange puts Jay in the corner with Mark stomping him to the outside. Jay nails him with an actual garbage can lid and they brawl.  Papa Briscoe wants them back in the ring.  Mark obliges and nails a charge in the corner.  He goes for a moonsault but Jay shoves him off and he crashes through a table.  Jay follows him and the action spills outside the garage and into the yard.  Jay with a pair of tosses and Mark slumps to the ground after a headbutt.  Jay with another trashcan lid hit into an uppercut.  Jay hits him with what appears to be a bathtub. Jay with a kick to the face.

Jay sets up a wood plank.  Mark with a low blow, dad does not approve.  Mark suplexes him on the plank.  Mark sets up a ladder to the top of a mobile home.  This can't be good.  He invites Jay to the top.  They exchange punches.  Mark with a rear naked choke.  He punches Jay and lift him up for a fireman carry, but Jay elbows out and sends Mark off the top of the trailer onto a conveniently placed crash pad covered by a tarp.

Two things of note: 1) Ian and Caprice are not commenting and 2) This appears cinematic but honestly looks like it's being done in one take.  Jay comes down via the ladder and mocks his brother.  Jay throws Mark in the back of a pickup truck and commandeers the cameraman.  Jay drives him to the chicken coop area but, when the truck stops, Mark attacks him and pulls out some rope and chokes his brother.  Mark pulls a take from the truck and nails Jay with a Sandy Fork Realty sign.  He lays Jay on the table and climbs a tree to get to the top of an old, dilapidated garage.  Mark with a frog splash as go to commercial.

We're back and both men are down as that frog splash hit hard.  Papa Briscoe wants to know if they're done.  He helps both his sons to their feet and walks them back to the original garage with the ring. They struggle to their feet and exchange forearms.  Papa Briscoe is awesome here screaming "YOU GOOD YET?!?!?"

The two just exchange brutal punches and headbutts. They're slumped down and finally both admit that "they're good". Papa Briscoe walks off and tells them to clean the barn.

RESULT: No Decision
