OMEGA ON POTENTIAL VIKINGO MATCH

Kenny Omega has commented on a potential match against El Hijo del Vikingo after the lucha libre sensation used Omega’s Croyt’s Wrath move at Lucha Libre AAA World Wide’s Verano de Escándalo show on July 3.

Omega compared Vikingo to All Elite Wrestling star Jungle Boy, who Omega successfully defended the AEW World Championship against on the June 26 episode of Dynamite, saying he also wants to crush Vikingo’s future.

“The balance and core strength this takes is incredible. With a little more raw power, he could have done it just as good as me. I’ve said [El Hijo del Vikingo] is one of the best for a reason. Much like with Jungle Boy in AEW, I want to crush your future too,” Omega posted.

Vikingo faced Aramis, Kamikaze Komander, Látigo and Toxin in a remarkable six-way match for the Alas de Oro trophy at Verano de Escándalo. Vikingo performed a Croyt’s Wrath off the second rope onto Látigo. After the match, Látigo refused to shake Vikingo’s hand.

Omega nominated Vikingo as his next challenger for the AAA Mega Championship at Triplemanía XXVIII last December, however Omega will instead attempt his fifth defense of the title against former WWE star Andrade at Triplemanía XXIX on August 14 in Arena Ciudad de México.
