Les Thatcher officially made his in-ring debut 62 years ago today.
On Facebook, Thatcher commented on the anniversary, writing:
"Want to wish all my family & friends here on Facebook a great & safe 4th of July!
It has a special meaning for me as just 62 years ago today this 19 year old kid from Cincinnati, Ohio was headed to Blue Hills, Maine to take his very first bump for money & what a ride it has been!
As the line from a Kristofferson song goes "The going up was worth the coming down"!
