DEONNA PURRAZZO VS. KIMBER LEE & MORE: BTI - BEFORE THE IMPACT REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2021-07-01 20:01:00

This week's edition of BTI featured Jon Burton, Gia Miller and Josh Mathews hosting.

They showed footage of last week's Impact Wrestling Tag Team title bout with Eddie Edwards and Satoshi Kojima challenging.

They showed Deonna Purrazzo defeating Susan last week.

Josh Mathews interviewed Rachael Ellering "earlier this week."  Ellering was asked about the issues between herself and Jordynne Grace.  She said that Jazz is trying to mend the bridge between them.  She can understand Grace's issues.  When you are a great competitor and you are in a rut, no one likes to lose.  She has been there in the past and she knows that no one wants to be in that place.  Jordynne started as her partner but the relationship grew and she's a good, good friend and she wants nothing more than to see things get better.    Elllering said they obviously want to get back to the point they are champions again, but sometimes you have to really put in the work and put in the steps to get things better again.  They didn't have that chance before to do that.  She said Jazz brought them together as sisters and they are very lucky to have her mentoring them.   She thinks the three of them can be special together but it's just a matter of getting the ball rolling.

Mathews asked Ellering about Tenille Dashwood starting problems.  Ellering said it would be a lie if you said Dashwood didn't have any involvement in the issues.  She won't go away and she's pestering them.  It's really starting to tick off Ellering and she's had enough of it.  Dashwood has made it personal and she's had enough of it.  She's sick of seeing Dashwood and Kaleb showing up at the worst possible point.  It's time to shut her up for good.

The Impact flashback was Moose and D'Angelo Williams teaming at Slammiversary.

The George Iceman insider segment was Iceman stating that he heard an incident in a parking lot but missed seeing what was going on.  There was screaming and yelling but whatever it was, he missed it.

Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo vs. Kimber Lee with Susan.

This is a non-title bout.

They locked up and Purrazzo pushed her back into the corner.   Purrazzo broke free but drilled her to show Lee who was boss.  They locked up again with Lee pushing Purrazzo into the corner but Purrazzo avoided her and slipped out.

They locked up again and Lee took the champion to the mat, cinching a hammerlock.  Purrazzo escaped and used a stepover toehold to control Lee on the mat.  They fought to the mat but Purrazzo took her down for a series of near falls.  Lee fought back and scored several of her own before they faced off.

Lee went for a kick but it was caught.  Purrazzo snapped her down to the mat, where Lee fell into a split.  She caught Purrazzo and nailed a suplex for a two count.  Purrazzo nailed an elbow and sent Lee to the floor.

When Lee returned to the ring, Purrazzo tied her up on the mat.  Lee fought her way to her feet.  They battled back and forth with some stiff clotheslines and shots.  Deonna gets caught with a sideslam for a two count.

Lee began unloading with some roundhouse kicks to the legs and the head.  Purrazzo ducked one and nailed a kick of her own, then snatched Lee with a suplex for a two count.  Lee escaped an armbar attempt and nailed a spinkick to the head.  Lee ascended to the ropes but Purrazzo nailed her.  Lee crashed into the buckles and then down into the ring.

Purrazzo snatched her into the Venus De Milo double armbar submission and forced the submission.

Your winner, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo!

Good match.

Susan helped Lee out of the ring.

Gia and Jon discussed what was coming up on Impact and sent us home.
