COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE BLOG

By Cory Strode on 2021-06-26 20:03:00

It's Saturday at Daily's Place in Jacksonville Florida and it's time for Dynamite. Our announcers are Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone. Dynamite is set up like it was for the Pay Per View, with extra seating where the stage normally is.

Alex Marvez tried to interview Sammy Guevara, and Sammy gets nailed with a chair in the parking lot by Sean Spears in a pre-tape.

Taz joins the announcers because we're starting with:

Powerhouse Hobbs vs Adam Page

Hobbs is by himself and the match starts with Hobbs working power moves, strong moves to overpower Page. Early on, when Page sets up for the Buckshot Lariat, Hobbs leaves the ring and slows everything down. As the match goes on, Hobbs works on the right arm, which Page uses for the lariat. Page gets busted open in the hairline and any time Page is able to get momentum, Hobbs is able to cut him off with a strongman move.

Toward the end of the match, Ricky Starks comes out with the FTW belt, and Brian Cage comes out and take the belt from him to stop whatever he was going to do and then chases him to the back furthering the story that Cage doesn't want to cheat to win any more. Not that it has helped Team Taz win anything.

Page is able to take control after the distraction, nails Hobbs with a few moves and then puts him away with the deadeye.

Your winner: Adam Page

Solid opener, contrasting styles, and giving both men a showcase for what they do. Hobbs loses because Taz's team always loses.

We then get a video package about the match coming tonight between Jungle Boy and Kenny Omega. These packages are great in how they make the main event seem like more than just a “last match of the show.?”

We then get a rundown of the card for the night and our first commercial break.

Dante Martin with a great showing here.

Jungle Boy with a few words about tonight's main event.  Christian interrupts him and tells him he should be angry as Omega is dismissing him.  Christian wishes him luck.

Jade Cargill and her manager Mark Sterling announce her sponsorship with AEW Shop.

Alex Marvez tries to get a word with MJF but, of course, he gets cut off immediately and MJF brags about what Shawn Spears did to Sammy Guevara.  MJF is curious as to why people are upset over what he did to Dean Malenko. He accepts Malenko's thanks for sending him into retirement.  Chris Jericho and Jake Hager arrive and brawl to the ring.  Hager and Jericho are outnumbered here and finally get taken over.  MJF works over Jericho's eyes and set up a chair to break Jericho's arm.  Sammy Guevara makes the save and runs off the Pinnacle with chairshots to the back.  Sammy with the mic.  This Wednesday, he's gonna prove to MJF who the best actually is.  The Pinncle yell that them form the ramp before walking off.

Miro gives a promo where he says he is thankful for being powerful and his wife is flexible. He then cuts a promo on Brian Pillman Jr where he says that Pillman has made a mistake and he will shwo him why he is God's favorite champion. I don't know if I like the religious stuff for a heel, but he is finally just being a tough guy, which works.

Ethan Page vs Bear Bronson

Each man has his tag team partner with them when they come to the ring. Last week, vs Darby Allin, Page was shown as the towering powerhouse, but this time, he and Bear are around the same in that they are big strong men. Bear dominates through the start of the match and even tries to his a tope through the ropes, and hits Scorpio instead. This leads to a sequence where Page gets Bear Boulder admonished by the ref for interfering while he and Scorpio double team Bear behind the ref's back.

Ethan then gets to beat down Bear on the small screen as we get a lot of ads for ice cream and Jeeps.

Bear starts his comeback right as we go big screen. We go into a series of near falls, and every time Bear goes to the top, it goes against him The last time he goes to the top, Sky and Boulder brawl outside the ring, and Page uses the distraction for a low blow and then hits the Ego';s Edge on Bear, and covers Bear for the three count. The visual of Page holding Bear up and tossing him was impressive.

Your Winner: Ethan Page

Bear Bronson looked good, even in his loss.

Page has the mic after the match and says he's not stupid. The cor4wd disagrees. Page then says that pinning Darby Allin is not enough for him. He is here to be the nail in Darby;'s coffin. He repeats it three times and then says on 7/7, they will have a coffin match.

In the back, Britt Baker and Rebel says they will send Vickie home after their match. Vickie and Nyla Rose respond, with Vickie saying their match will cement Rose as the number one contender, and they should look out for the claws of the cougar.

In the back, Britt Baker and Rebel says they will send Vickie home after their match. Vickie and Nyla Rose respond, with Vickie saying their match will cement Rose as the number one contender, and they should look out for the claws of the cougar. JR says there is something funny about the tag match when we get back from commercial, so they are laying the groundwork for shenanigans.

Bunny vs Kris Statlander

Blade and Orange Cassidy are at ringside.

As they start out, Statlander shwos that she does more power moves than grappling, and takes control with body slams and other strength moves. JR lets us know that Bunny is a 16 year veteran and that Trent just had neck surgery. Bunny takes control of the match as we go to picture in picture. During the break I look at the time and it's been almost 90 minutes and the next match in the main event. The show has been fast paced and much better than the last batch of Friday shows, which seemed to drag.

We come back to the fight going outside the ring, and the match resets when they roll into the ring. Statlander takes control when they trade blows in the middle in the ring. Bunny gets a flurry of offence, and when the ref is distracted, Blade slips Bunny the brass knuckles, and Orange Cassidy comes into the ring, takes them away and puts them in his pocket. Statlander then hits the Big Bang Theory and pins Bunny for the win.

Your winner: Bunny

Blade goes after Cassidy and TH2 come to the ring to hold him as Blade takes back the brass knuckles and pop Cassidy in the jaw.

In a pre-tape, QT Marshall about Brock Anderson's debut and QT talks about how no one cared when he beat Cody. QT then wants Cody to get cast in a super-hero movie so that he can show how great he is.

We get the rundown of the card on Wednesday for the farewell to Daily's Place. Pillman responds to Miro says that he was born on the wrong side fo the tracks and he will fight for everything he has.

Next is the main event with almost a half hour left.

Before that, we get a promo from Eddie Kingston and Penta. Eddie says that the Young Bucks talk about taking people out, but that's in wrestling, and hehas taken people out in real life. And the only way to hurt them is to take the title, and then they will take them out. Penta gives his promo is Spanish. His translator says that Penta says the Bucks talk about running people over, and next week, they will run over them.

Kenny Omega (AEW Champion) vs Jungle Boy

Jurassic Express come out with JB, and the crowd sings along with Tarzan Boy. Kenny, Don Callis and the Good Brothers come to the ring with Kenny and his four belts. I miss the girls with the brooms. Marko Stunt gets into the ring and the ref tosses him and Luchasaurus. He then tosses out the Good Brothers and Don Callis, who is exiled to the announcer's table.

Kenny backs JB into the corner and takes his time brushinbg JB's hair out of his eyes to intimidate him. Kenny does a few moves showing he's not taking JB seriously, and JB responds by working Kenny's arm and Kenny can't do anything about it. JB has the crowd on his side, as he does some ring flips and they go wild for it. When they brawl outside the ring, the crowd is all over Kenny.

Our first picture in picture has then brawl on the floor, neither one having the edge for long until they get into the ring when Kenny takes control. When we come back to the big screen,m Kenny is still working over JB, but isn't taking him serious, showboating and stalling, which allows JB to get the surprise rollup (the most devastating move in all of professional wrestling) and turn the tide. JB gets our first batch of Topes for the night, showing that they mean more if they don't happen all the time.

The announcers are REALLY pushing that the show will stay on until there is a winner.

They brawl on the top of the turnbuckle for a long time leading to the superplex and a two count by Kenny. Kenny cuts off JB's comeback with his snapdragon and V Triggers,. But JB reverses the One Winged Angle with a rana that Kenny made look devastating. Kenny then hits a series of V Trigfgers, and JB able to use Kenny's overconfidence to lock him in the snare trap.

The Good Brothers try to come out, but are stopped by Frankie Kazarian and Jurassic Exprerss. Kenny makes it to the ropes and they trade shots in the middle of the ring. The crowd is super into the match, cheering when JB is attacking and booing when Kenny is attacking. Kenny gets locked into the snare trap again and gets out by pulling JB's hair and gouging his eyes. Kenny is abel to wing after hitting JB with a V trigger, Tiger Driver 98 and finally, the One Winged Angel.

Your winner and still champion: Kenny Omega

After the match, Kenny holds his belt and waits for JB to get up, but Christian Cage drives him off. Matt Hardy's group attacks him/ Cage is able to fight them off, sets up Matt for the Killswitch, and the Young Bucks show and take Cage out with super kicks. Matt then hits a Twist of Fate and the heels stand tall as we go off the air on time.
