OMEGA VS. JUNGLE BOY & MORE: COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2021-06-26 20:22:00

Welcome one and all to AEW's FINAL "Off Night" before the big return to Wednesday Nights!  We've got a big time main event as Kenny Omega defends the AEW World Title against Jungle Boy Jack Perry.  Jim Ross, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone are on the call of tonight's action from Daley's Place in Jacksonville, FL.  I expect there to be no wasted motion tonight!  Earlier today, Alex MArvez was trying to get a word in with Sammy Guevara.  However, the Chairman, Shawn Spears nails him with a chair, leaving him laying.  Wednesday night, it's supposed to be MJF vs. Sammy.

Daily's Place has a good crowd tonight.

Taz has joined the booth for tonight's opening contest.

Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Adam Page

Lockup, Hobbs bullies him into the corner and we get a clean break.  Headlock by Page, Hobbs throws him off and hits a shoulderblock and bullies Page into the corner.  Series of corner shoulderblocks, Page fires back in the corner.  Kick by Page into a clothesline, he teases the Buckshot Lariat and Hobbs rolls to the floor. Clothesline by Hobbs on the floor.  Hobs rams Page's arm into the barricade and wrenches it on the post.  Back in the ring, Hobbs works over the right arm further.  Big vertical suplex by Hobbs.  Hobbs by the way is now ranked #4 in the rankings.  Page lifts his knees when Hobbs tries a Vader Bomb.  No matter as Hobbs throws Page into the post and Page rolls out od the ring.  Hobbs goes back to work on the right arm.  Page rolls out of a fireman's carry and shoves Hobbs into the post.  Page is bleeding from his scalp, it appears.  Page with a big boot to the face, followed by another, then a third.  Hobbs shakes it off but Page sends him to the floor with a clothesline.  Page with a top rope suicida knocks Hobbs down.  Page to the top and hits a moonsault for 1.  Hobbs elbows out of a German and nails a running clothesline.  Hammerlock slam by Hobbs, he misses a 2nd rope headbutt.  Lariat for 2 by Page.  Hobbs blocks the Deadeye and hits a crossbody for 2.

Here comes Ricky Starks and Hook.  Starks hands the FTW belt to Hobbs but Brian Cage pulls it away.  Hobbs with a spinebuster for 2.  They trade rolling elbows.  German by Page and he nails a Deadeye for the pin.

WINNER: Hangman Adam Page

Page enjoys a post match beer

We're treated to a video preview of tonight's main event.

Brandon Cutler and The Young Bucks are in the back bragging that they're the longest reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions.  Next week it's Eddie Kingston and Penta with a chance to earn a title shot.

Tony Schiavone is with Tully Blanchard.  This is bringing back some memories.  Konnan joins them in the ring for a gentleman's discussion.  Tully lets Konnan go first.  He reminds Tully that Santana and Ortiz aren't going anywhere.  Konnan took umbrage with Tully last week saying FTR had the same rough upbringing as Santana and Ortiz.  Tully has heard enough.  Konnan declares himself a father figure to Proud & Powerful.  Tully has done his research on Konnan.  He knows that eventually, he'll let Santana and Ortiz down.  Konnan brings out Santana and Ortiz.  They're in hoodies and sungalsses.  It's actually FTR and they hit a spike piledriver on Konnan.  The Pinnacle is definitely winning the battle tonight against the Inner Circle.

Dante Martin vs. Matt Sydal

As Martin makes his entrance, the nails-on-the-chalkboard screeching to Vickie Guerrero interrupts us.  She brings out Andrade El Idolo.  Vickie says there's a big announcement but Matt Sydal makes his entrance and Andrade and Vickie slink to the back.

Lockup, headlock by Martin, Sydal reverses into a front facelock.  Martin with a headlock, Sydal counters into an armtwist.  Sydal with a snapmare, Martin lands on his feet and hits a springboard dropkick for 1.  Martin with a headlock into a flying headscissors.  Leg lariat by Sydal for 2.  LEg kicks by Sydal, he transitions into a spinning toe hold as we head to commercial.

We're back and Martin in slumped on the floor.  He rolls back in and Sydal slaps on a kneebar. Martin makes the ropes. Punishing chops by Sydal, Martin catches the leg and hits a fireman carry for 1.  Spin kick by Martin.  Double springboard moonsault by Martin for 2.  Elbows by Sydal and hits a double knee off the 2nd for 2.  Sunset flip by Martin for 2.  Stunner by Martin for 2. Solid outing here.  Spin kick and  a neckbreaker by Sydal and he scores the pin.

WINNER: Matt Sydal

Dante Martin with a great showing here.

Jungle Boy with a few words about tonight's main event.  Christian interrupts him and tells him he should be angry as Omega is dismissing him.  Christian wishes him luck.

Jade Cargill and her manager Mark Sterliong announce her sponsorship with AEW Shop

Alex Marvez tries to get a word with MJF but, of course, he gets cut off immediately and MJF brags about what Shawn Spears did to Sammy Guevara.  MJF is curious as to why people are upset over what he did to Dean Malenko. He accepts Malenko's thanks for sending him into retirement.  Chris Jericho and Jake Hager arrive and brawl to the ring.  Hager and Jericho are outnumbered here and finally get taken over.  MJF works over Jericho's eyes and set up a chair to break Jericho's arm.  Sammy Guevara makes the save and runs off the Pinnacle with chairshots to the back.  Sammy with the mic.  This Wednesday, he's gonna prove to MJF who the best actually is.  The Pinncle yell that them form the ramp before walking off.

Miro thanks God for keeping his hot wife flexible.  Brian Pillman jr did not pay proper respect to God’s favorite champion.  GREAT Promo

Bear Bronson vs Ethan Page w/ Scorpio Sky

Lockup and Page fires away but Bronson does not register and goes to work with body shots.  Clothesline by Bronson, kick by Page.  Bronson catches him with a powerslam for 2.  Bronson sends him into the post.  Page slumps to the floor.  He goes for a tope suicida but Sky pushes page out of the way and eats the brunt of it.  Page sends Bronson into the railing off the distraction.  Bear Boulder is at ringside as well as we head to commercial.

We're back to live action and All Ego is posing for the crowd.  Bronson fires away and hits clubbing lariats into a fallaway spionebuster.  Bronson misses a senton but sits down on a sunset flip for 2.  Bronson to the top but Page meets him and hits a superplex. Page charges but Bronson with a sidewalk slam for 2.  Bronson to the top. Sky tries to interfere but Boulder stops him.  With the referee distracted, Page hits the Ego's Edge for the pin.

WINNER: All Ego Ethan Page

The Men of the Year have something to say.  Page declares he's not stupid.  The crowd thinks otherwise.  Page says he'll be the nail in Allin's coffin.  He challenges Darby to a Coffin (not casket) match.

We hear from Dr. Bitt Baker, DMD and Rebel.  They laugh about how Vickie had a favor from Tony Kahn and she asked for a wrestling match.  On the opposite side, Guerrero and Rose declare that there's a Baker vs. Rose title match at Fyter Fest Night 2.

The Bunny w/The Blade vs. Kris Statlander w/Orange Cassidy

Lockup, Statlander throws her down.  Standing switch by Statlander and Bunny sweeps her legs out and they exchange kicks.  Bodyslam by Statlander, she BOOPS Bunny's nose and sets her up but Bunny with a superkick. The announce team sends their regards to Trent, who apparently has had neck fusion surgery.  That's no joke and, if he's reading this, I'd like to extend by best wishes for a full recovery.  Trent is talented as heck.  We head to commercial.

We're back and Bunny with a kneelift and clothelines Kris over the top rope. She charges and Statlander with a big powerslam. Back in the ring, the 2 fire away with punches.  Statlander with an impressive Michinoku Driver for 2.  Blue Thunder Bomb by Statlander for 2.  Statlander to the 2nd rope but Bunny German Suplexes her and nails a superkick for 2. Blade to the apron and he slips her some brass knux.  Orange Cassidy takes them away and Statlander hits the Big Bang for the pin.

WINNER: Kris Statlander

The Galaxy's Favorite Alien and Cassidy Celebrate until Blade and TH2 attack Cassidy.  Blade pulls the knux from Cassidy's pocket and Blade nails him with it.  Blade poses over Orange Cassidy.

Earlier today Tony caught up with QT Marshall.  Marshall has some choice words for Brock Anderson and Cody Rhodes.  Cody is not here this week as he's in Los Angeles.  In 10 days it's Cody vs QT in a South Beach Strap Match.

Brian Pillman Jr is feeling good about his TNT Title Shot this Wednesday

Main Event Time is up next

We get some comments from Eddie Kingston and Penta El Zero Meido ahead of their title eliminator match against the Young Bucks this Wednesday.

AEW World Championship: Kenny Omega w/Don Callis & The Good Brothers (AEW World Champion) vs. Jungle Boy Jack Perry w/Marko Stunt and Luchasaurus

Marko Stunt gets excited and goes after Omega.  Referee Paul Turner ejects everyone from ringside.  Lockup Omega mocks Perry's hair in the corner.  We're told that TNT will stay with this one-fall, sixty minute match as long as it takes.  Arm twist by Perry, Omega takes him down by the hair.  Omega punches and chops Perry in the corner.  Omega with a thumb to the eye and he runs into a boot.  Back elbow by Omega but Perry with a springboard armdrag by Perry, Omega retreats but nails Perry with a punch on the outside as we head to commercial.

We're back and Omega scores a 2 count.  Perry's mother is at ringside.  Omega chops Perry repeatedly.  Perry tries a suplex but settles for a small package for 2.  Then Perry hits a brain buster but is too beat to follow up.  Perry with forearms and Perry with a dropkick to the knee.  Omega goes for Snap Dragon but Perry elbows out.  Omega falls to the back and hits 2 tope suicidas.  DDT by Perry and then nails a tope con hillo.

Perry rolls the champion back and mounts the ropes.  Omega knocks him off and tries a superplex.  Perry blocks it so Omega nails forearms and then hits big superplex for 2.  Omega misses a V Trigger and Perry with a superkick.  Knee by Omega, he hits the V Trigger.  Perry counters the OWA with a reverse rana.  Perry sets up a spanish fly on the top rope but Omega with a facedrop to the top turnbuckle. Running clothesline by Perry for 2.  V Trigger and a Tiger Driver 98 for 2.  Omega finally puts it away with a One Winged Angel.

WINNER AND STILL AEW WORLD CHAMPION: Kenny Omega

Omega sets up Perry for a belt shot, Christian Cage makes the save but Matt Hardy and company counter him.  Here comes Frankie Kazarian.  The Young Bucks with a double superkick on Christian.  The Elite celebrate as we go off the air
