RING OF HONOR TV REPORT

Quinn McKay, our host, welcomes us and runs down the action in store for us today, specifically the first round of the Survival of the Fittest tournament.  We are told by Quinn that The Dirty Daddy Chris Dickinson advanced on ROH Week by Week.  Next week are the finals.  So far we have:

  • Demonic Flamita
  • Chris Dickinson
  • Eli Isom
  • Brian Johnson

Rhett Titus meets Danhausen next week on Week by Week.  the six first winners meet in a six way elimination match

 

Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman have the call of tonight's action

 

Survival of the Fittest first round: Bateman w/Vita Von Starr and Dutch vs. Bandido

 

Remember, if Von Star gets involved, Board Member Maria Kanellis will remove her from the ROH Women's World Title Tournament.  Bateman has announced that, when we wins the ROH World Title match he'll receive if he wins, he will present the title to his master, Vincent.  No worries about Von Starr and Dutch and referee Joe Mandack sends them to the back.  Code of Honor not adhered to.  .  Lockups, we get a pair of clean breaks.  Feeling out process, Bateman rolls out of a bodyslam and regroups in the corner. They jockey for position on a backslide, Bateman blocks a fireman carry, Bandido with a chop but Bateman with a clubbing forearm.  Knee to the midsection by Bandido but Bateman chops him down.  Kick by Bandido into a corkscrew moonsault.  Bandido with a hurancanrana.  Bateman blocks a kick and slams him on the apron.  Kneelift by Bateman for 2 as we go to commercial.

 

We're back as Bate works Bandido over.  Front slam for 2 by Bateman.  Bandido fires back but he's groggy.  Bateman knocks him down with a forearm.  Bandido with a dropkick to the knee into a Shining Wizard.  Bandido scores a 2.  Chop thrust by Bateman.  Bandido all of a sudden with a press slam into a Michinoku Driver for 2.  Bateman rolls out and Bandido nails a corkscrew moonsault.  Bandido tries a springboard forearm but a big forearm by Bateman stops him and Bateman scores a 2.  Superkick by Bandido into a crucifix for 2.  Running uppercut by Bandido, Bateman with a eye rake.  Bateman with a running knee.  Bandido counters a tombstone.  Bandido nails the 21 Plex for the pin.

 

WINNER: Bandido (Advances to the Survival of the Fittest Final)

 

Out comes the returning Vincent, with Von Starr and Dutch.  Vincent says he's never lied, unlike th erest of society.  While Bateman has done  good job, Vincent has had an epiphany.  He wants the ROH World Championship.  He says that Bateman has failed him.  He tells Bateman that death is th egreatest form of love.  Bateman sacrifices himself for a beating from Dutch and Von Starr.  The Righteous tend to Bateman.

 

We get a promo for Best in the World on July 11th.  The first time fans will be live for an ROH show since March 2020.

 

The very nice and very evil Danhausen and Rhett Titus preview their match on Week by Week.

 

We see highlights from the recent Flip Gordon and EC3 vs. Briscoes match.  The Briscoes are not happy.  Jay blames Mark and Papa Briscoe breaks up the argument.  It'll be Mark v. Jay in a match on the Farm in 2 weeks.

 

Triple Threat Match for the ROH World TV Title: Tony Deppen (ROH World TV Champion) vs. Dragon Lee vs. Tracey Williams

 

Deppen and Williams adhere to the code of honor.  Jay Lethal v. Brody King has been announced for Best in the World.  WAY too much, so it's bullet point time

  • Williams wrenches Deppen's leg
  • Deppen escapes and Williams sends him to the outside
  • Lee rolls up Williams for 
  • Deppen holds Lee but gets chopped by Williams
  • Deppen and Williams exchange chops
  • Double hammer on Lee
  • Lee nails a clothesline to Deppen.  
  • Lee tries a tope suicida but Williams and Deppen catch him and hit a double suplex
  • Deppen blocks a Williams suplex and nails a kick to the knee
  • Deppen with a running dropkick on Willams
  • Deppen nails a running dropkick on Lee.
  • Lee sends the Champion to the outside but Lee nails a dopkick and hits a tope con hillo
  • Lee throws Deppen back in and hits a double stomp, Williams breaks up the pin

THIS MATCH IS NUTS WITH ACTION

  • Lee works over Williams in the corner
  • Lee then turns his attention to Deppen and hits a dropkick in the cirner for 2 on Deppen
  • Williams hits a pair of standing elbows on Lee
  • Lee and Williams exchange forearms and Williams with a Death Valley Driver for 2, save by Deppen
  • Williams chops knees Deppen in the corner.
  • Deppen with a legsweep on Williams but then eats an uppercut
  • DDT on the top turnbuckle by Willams
  • Drokick to both by Lee, all 3 are down
  • We have a three way chop exchange.
  • Williams with a German on Lee, Deppen responds in kind to Williams
  • Williams then German suplexes both opponents for 2.
  • Knee strike by Deppen
  • Lee dropkicks Williams
  • Powerbomb by Lee to Deppen for 2, saved by Williams.
  • Lee and Williams exchange forearms
  • Todd Sinclair gets knocked aside, Lee with a low blow to Willams.  Deppen shoves Lee out of the way and scores the pin.

WINNER: Tony Deppen (retains championship)

 

Lee offers applause.  Oddly, he could have broken up the pin but chose not to.  Odd...

 

The Foundation and VLNCE UNLTD square off. LFI comes out and Kenny King reveals that they purposely made sure The Foundation lost this one. King challenges Deppen to a one on one with Lee for Best in the World.  Deppen accepts..
