HOW WWE HANDLES CONTRACTS WHEN TALENTS ARE MOVED TO MAIN ROSTER, MOLLY HOLLY, WRESTLERS AS SUPER HEROES IN FILMS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2021-06-25 10:00:00

With John Cena and The Rock soon playing super heroes, If you could see any wrestler play any super hero, who would it be?

I think the Miz would be an awesome Booster Gold.  I also think MJF would be great as Guy Gardner.

I know AEW is running NYC in September, but it's weird we haven't seen any independents in the area.  Any word on those?

I have been told everyone is waiting for the New York State Athletic Commission to give the thumbs up.  The belief is that comes this summer.

When someone moves from NXT to main roster do they renegotiate their contract or are they paid the same

Yes and no.  Usually what happens is the talents are given a new contract with higher money.  There is no renegotiation as much as WWE tells them what they will now be receiving.  The contracts morph to the main roster parameters in terms of non-compete, merchandising royalties, etc.  They don't get a new contract the second they are moved up (like for example Karrion Kross would still be under his NXT deal) but once the plans are made for those talents to permanently move up to the main roster, the old deal is ripped up and the new one is put into effect.

If a talent goes back to NXT, do they lose their main roster contract?

I am guessing that depends on the situation.  I don't believe that for Finn Balor, they would have cut back his money because they sent him to NXT.   If it's a developmental talent that they feel isn't clicking on Raw or Smackdown and needs re-tooling, that is a separate situation.

Any word on Molly Holly as a Producer?

She's still going through the process and has mostly been working Smackdown tapings as far as I am aware.
