FORMER WWE STAR POPS UP IN NEW G.I. JOE FILM TRAILER

By Mike Johnson on 2021-06-21 11:58:00

Billy Krotchsen sent along that former WWE star Dean "Mojo Rawley" Muhtadi can be seen in a scene featured in the latest trailer for the forthcoming G.I. Joe-franchise film Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins.

In the scene, if you pause six seconds in, Rawley is clearly about to have a chain wrapped around his throat during a fight with Snake Eyes, played by Henry Golding.  The trailer was released this morning.

The official synopsis for the film: Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him. Based on the iconic G.I. Joe character, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins also stars Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Úrsula Corberó as The Baroness, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Tahehiro Hira as Kenta and Iko Uwais as Hard Master

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson played Roadblock in G.I. Joe: Retalation but that film will likely have zero to little bearing on this film as characters from previous Joe films have been recast for Snake Eyes.

The film was shot in 2019 in Vancouver, British Columbia with additional material shot last year in Japan.   There were some reshoots just this past March.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is slated for a 7/23 release.
