Women’s Wrestling Revolution Plus “To Wrestle, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth!”

6/20/21 - 5pm

Worcester, MA - Streaming on IWTV

WWR+ returns to Worcester with a great double main event: Masha Slamovich vs Willow Nightingale and Davienne vs Trish Adora! Rich Palladino is your announcer. Veda Scott (Welcome back!) and Paul Crockett are your commentary team for today’s action!

Match 1: “Megasus” Megan Bayne vs “The Gladiator of the Geeks” Riley Shepard

Almost a winner’s bracket of Team Adams students, both coming off victories last month at “Let’s Talk About Wrestling”. Bayne is confident (she has to be, she has a persona ringside valet now!), overpowering and reversing Shepard’s early submissions. Shepard makes room and wrenches at the arm and shoulder of the Megasus but Bayne throws he to the buckles and spears her in the corner. Shepard dodges a follow up and goes right back to the limb. Shepard comes off the second rope but Bayne swats her out of the air and stalks her opponent’s with stomps. Megan puts the boots to Riley, getting the crowd riled up against her. Bayne working the neck, Shepard escapes but runs into a powerslam for two. Shepard getting her abdomen worked in the corner but she manages to post Bayne. Riley fires up with forearms and corner clotheslines, big exploder and a missile dropkick from the top. Riley wants to finish it but Bayne clubs her way out. Riley ducks a big boot and walks right into Bow Down, a swinging uranage that keeps the Gladiator on the mat for three. Good opening fight here, both have great entrances and presence. These two had great matches last month and were able to carry that forward into another good competitive showcase here today!

Winner: Megan Bayne

Match 2: Tina San Antonio vs Ashley D’Amboise

If that last match was the Team Adams winner’s bracket, here comes the other half of those matchups....but let’s be real, these two MORE than held their own last month so I have high hopes here too. San Antonio briefly stalls for time before the lockup, which D’Amboise quickly takes controls with a sweep out of an ankle lock into a headlock. Tina gets the wrist but Ashley quickly spins and cartwheels her way into a reversal. Ashley is nursing her shoulder after she slams Tina to the mat. San Antonio capitalizes, dodging a senton and working D’Amboise over in the corner. Big suplex for two!  Tina is all over Ashley, choking her out in the corner with the boot, missing a running elbow and a leg drop. Ashley makes space with a jawbreaker, hits a back elbow and nails the senton. Tina with a jawbreaker of her own, Ashley reverses! Rock bottom! Tina comes in off the kick out, flurry of action, Ashley drops down and rolls up San Antonio for the pin! This was a lot of fun, Ashley looked like she had to power through some pain there but when it was time for the flash, she showed out great. Tina is 0-2 but she’s had great matches right along and I expect both ladies will be featured in shows to come.

Winner: Ashley D’Amboise

Match 3: Kennedi Copeland vs Alisha Edwards

Worcester gives Edwards the reception she deserves, which is to say BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! We neveah forget. Edwards eats it up but offers a handshake to a dubious Copeland. Of COURSE it’s a trap and Copeland gets dropped in the corner and eats a brutal dropkick to eat face. Edwards chokes her on the ropes but Copeland back with Thez press and tries an arm bar. Edwards rakes the eyes and clothelines her opponent. Edwards drops strikes down on Copeland’s shoulder but Kennedi hits a double chop to the throat. Series of kicks but Edwards sweeps the leg and face plants Copeland for two.  Big corner chops, Ref Quinn tries to break it up but she yells at him. Copeland uses the distraction to her advantage, Code breaker to the arm for two. Edwards faceplants Copeland again for two and she’s MAD now....heading to the floor to grab a kendo stick. She comes right back in and blasts Copeland with the stick, prompting an instant DQ. She doesn’t care and she breaks the weapons upside her head as the crowd goes and chants “don’t come back!”. Wowwwww! Again, Edwards doesn’t care because she’s the one who left the ring standing.

Winner: Kennedi Copeland (by DQ)

Little Mean Kathleen is out here to issue a LMK “Once in a Lifetime” Open Challenge! Do we have a challenger? Kaia McKenna answers the challenge! She’s back for revenge from last month! She surrounded the ring in salt to....bind the uncontrollable demon that is LMK?

Match 4: Little Mean Kathleen vs “The Conduit of Karma” Kaia McKenna

I love that we’re using a “Once in a Lifetime” gimmick to do a rematch....especially a rematch we really loved last month.  Quick flurry, LMK wantsa test of strength but she IS tiny and Kaia drags her to the mat and wrenches the shoulder. LMK tries to escape but Kaia reverses into a single leg crab. LMK escapes again and Kaia plants her with a bulldog for a near fall. LMK is staggering but hits a cross body for two. Kathleen tries a dropkick but bounces off McKenna. A head scissors works to send Kaia to the corner and she stomps her frantically. LMK is firing up and hits more stomps with berserker-like energy. Kaia catches her into a fireman’s carry but LMK locks in a sleeper. McKenna backpacks her into the corner to back it up. LMK bounces right back and dropping crazed shots to the back, Kaia fires up with similar wild energy and they start to slug it out in the center. Kaia with a series of judo tosses and kicks, tosses LMK into the match and locks up the shoulder. LMK is trapped and forced to tap! LMK’s energy is hypnotic and Kaia is a great dance partner for her. Since the story here was Kaia finding a way to use LMK’s energy against her to get the win (either by salts or skill), I expect we’ll see the rubber match next month and they will let it all hang out for this grand finale!

Winner: Kaia McKenna

Match 5: The Scrunchie Pals (Becca & Erica Leigh) vs Kings of the District (Jordan Blade & Eel O’Neal)

Becca & Leigh damn near killed each other last month....can they vibe as a team today....especially against an absolutely motivated KOTD??? Eel is completely fired up and in Leigh’s face during the entrance. Like last month, Higher Society (Armani Kayos & Paris Van Dale) make their way out to observe the match from ringside. Leigh out at the bell with big head kicks but Eel gets an ankle lock into a back mount, dropping a series of slaps to the back of the head. Leigh and Eel are dropping bombs into each other’s faces and they are both forced to tag out. Blade hits the ring and tears Becca apart on the mat. Becca is fighting but Jordan Blade is the superior technician by far. Becca with a head scissors clears Blade and The Scrunchie Pals get into some tandem work on O’Neal. Eel reverses Leigh and whips her into the knee of Blade, who starts dropping a flurry of shots to the face. Leigh wants out but Jordan won’t let her. KOTD get rolling with high speed combos, Eel wraps up Leigh’s arms and bites her hands. Erica gets dumped on her head by a Blade saito suplex for two. Becca is firing up on the apron but KOTD keep her contained there. Leigh finally blasts Eel with a X-Factor and an enziguri gives her the space she needs to get the tag to Becca. Becca uses scrunchie power to handspring across the ring and slap Blade in the face. Super kick into a Samoan drop on Blade. Becca is trying a powerbomb to Eel? Blade cuts that off but Becca up to the top and crossbodies them both. Eel tries an air raid crash but Becca reverses into a stunner for two! Blade gutwrench tosses her, blasts the knees and Leigh has to save her partner. KOTD tossed to the floor and Becca topes out to the them. Scrunchie Pals going for the finish but Blade pulls Becca to the floor. Leigh avoids danger and hits a double spear to KOTD. Scrunchie Pals hit Blade with a popup X-Factor! Kick out! Blade uses Becca as a weapon to drop Leigh, then drops Becca into a knee bar, kicking her in the back and forcing the submission! This was awesome. All energy. Give me more of this!

Winner: Kings of the District

Ask and I shall receive? Higher Society grab the mic to congratulate KOTD....but remind them that KOTD lost last month...and Higher Society haven’t lost in WWR+(technically they didn’t have a match)...which brings out The Sea Stars to test their assertion of being the top tag team around. This immediately turns into a brawl in the ring and we have our next contest!

Match 6: The Sea Stars (Ashley Vox & Delmi Exo) vs Higher Society (Armani Kayos & Paris Van Dale)

Exo works Kayos over on the mat early as the ref gets control over this fight. Demi whips Vox into a senton for two. Vox tries a springboard rana but he powers he up and buckle bombs her into the boot of Van Dale. Paris keeps this heat on and they boot choke Vox in the corner. Big senton from Kayos for two, as Delmi wills her sister on from the apron. Paris throwing knees and a X-Factor and continues to taunt the crowd . Double split leg drop from Higher Society on Vox for two. Vox with a monkey flip up into a ddt on Kayos! Delmi’s in and unloading shots on Van Dale. Kayos right in with a super kick, but Delmi avoids them to hit a double clothesline. Exo suplexes Van Dale into Kayos in the corner for two. Vox feeds Paris a boot to th mouth for two. Delmi with a northern lights bridge buy Kayos cuts off the pin with a split leg drop. Exo hit with a leg drop and Van Dale barely makes the kick out. Vox breaks up another team up. Fish hook to Van Dale! Delmi with the iconoclasm off the top, sending Vox into Kayos to get the pin! Higher Society gets put in their place by the true best team in the WWR+ but they took them to the limit and showed they weren’t all talk. Good match!

Winner: The Sea Stars

Match 7: Masha Slamovich vs Willow Nightingale

This match got set up over the last couple of months of Beyond shows, as Nightingale has been sick of Masha’s constant disrespect and post-match attacks on her opponents. Masha wants an early handshake? Willow gets the shake but is then ambushed with a german suplex and a body slam. Masha misses a dive off the second and Willow gets her receipt Slamovich, battering her in the corner, tossing her by the hair and sending her to bar area. Willow bounces her off the bar and the post, as she clearly woke up and chose violence today. Masha is winded and steals someone’s beer but Willow cuts her recovery off. Trading loud chest shots on the floor, Willow smacks the taste out of her mouth but Masha rounds back with a kick to the face. Nightingale bounces her face off the apron for a ten count. Willow brings her back in but Masha starts hitting kicks, sliding dropkick for a two count. Masha with a headbutt, while her motor mouth is speeding up. Willow with a side Russian into a deep shoulder stretch. She’s kicking at the face but Masha rolls out and they trade pin attempts before Masha gets her onto the second for a dropkick. Masha takes the back for a camel clutch, biting at Willow’s head until she’s forced to break it. Slamovich is relentless but Willow feeds her some forearms and a cartwheel superkick.....but Willow drops in exhaustion. They work back up and Willow hits a spinebuster for two! Masha with a running shot to the back of the head for two! Masha tries it again, Willow’s out! Spinning back fist from Masha, Willow with the uranage! Kick out! Willow with a corner cannonball...Willow wants the moonsault...Masha recovers and intercepts....Willow gets rana’d off the top but she’s out at 2.99999! Masha locks up a rear naked choke...it’s deep....Willow’s arm gets tested but she’s up at three! Willow with a DVD! Willow with a Blu-Ray! Masha gets the rope! Willow drags her back to the center and crunches Masha with a doctor bomb for the pin!

Winner: Willow Nightingale

Masha struggles to her feet but Willow knows better and backs out of the ring which Masha looks enraged at the loss. Tina San Antonio gets Willow at the entrance curtain and throws her back into Masha’s post-match assault. Masha leaves Willow laying with a top rope headbutt as the crowd lets her know how much they appreciate her disrespect. Excellent back n forth contest. I really liked this. Willow wasn’t here to make friends and Slamovich doesn’t care about that anyways. Again, Slamovich proves to be the resilient, disrespectful, monster of WWR+....but she still needs to get into the 2021 win column in Worcester. Who’s next?

Main Event: “The Afropunk” Trish Adora vs “Not America’s Sweetheart” Davienne

Davienne called her shot last month after an awesome opening match against Delmi Exo. The crowd is VERY on Trish’s side here but Davienne is used to the jeers. Davienne works Adora down in the test of strength but the Afropunk bridges back up to drop her opponent to the mat. Adora working the wrist and fingers, Davienne is desperate to avoid THIS damage. Davienne gets the arm and trying to tear it from Adora’s body, using the bottom rope for leverage. Slugfest on the floor, Davienne runs her shoulder in the post and chops Trish on the apron. Trish with her own chop but her shoulder is trashed and she’s feeling it. Trish tries to even out the arm damage on the post but she gets run into the steel again. Big suplex and Adora has to kick out but almost catches Davienne in an arm bar. Adora firing up with forearms and a crossbody for two! Big slam on Davienne! Kick out and Adora is frustrated as she favors her injured limbs. Davienne walks into another slam but Adora doesn’t get all of it. Adora to the apron but Davienne pulls her back into for a ddt for two. They work their way back to the feet, trading kicks to the gut and face...Davienne reverses a waist lock into a german. It’s not enough! Davienne misses a baseball slide into the corner and posts herself! Trish drags her back into an locks in the cattle mutilation. Davienne taps! Trish has been on a tear in WWR+ & Beyond this year but Davienne keeps proving why she is a mainstay on New England’s Wrestling scene with another strong showing here today. And that’s it for—

Winner: Trish Adora

Hold on -> Megan Bayne’s valet hits the ring to distract a celebrating Trish Adora while Bayne comes in to face off with the Afropunk. Good back and forth chant for Trish Adora and the Megasus. Yes please. Adora sees the numbers game and heads to the back, making sure to pie-face Bayne’s valet....but still leaving Megan Bayne to stand tall as we fade to black.

And that’s it for WWR+ “To Wrestle, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth”! WWR+ is 2 for 2 on my score card. We have a solid roster, good storytelling across the board, everyone came to show their craft and why they love being professional wrestlers. I was excited for today’s show, and they set the stage so I’m excited for July’s upcoming offering. The Worcester crowd was lively and WELL HEARD on the IWTV stream. Crockett and Veda made a great commentary pairing (but when WILL Veda strap her boots on again in Worcester?). IWTV returns to Worcester with Beyond Wrestling’s “Master Class”. Matches announced so far are Brogan Finlay vs Alexander James, Aaron Rourke vs Teddy Goodz & Richard Holliday vs Tony Deppen. WWR+ makes their return on Sunday, July 18th and it sure seems like Trish Adora & Megan Bayne are likely to headline that card. Tickets for both will be on sale at ShopIWTV.com! Until then!
