FORMER IMPACT/WWE DEVELOPMENTAL STAR KEVIN MATTHEWS LATEST WRESTLER TO UNDERGO BIOXCELLERATOR STEM CELL THERAPY IN COLOMBIA

By Mike Johnson on 2021-06-19 09:15:00

Former Impact Wrestling and WWE developmental star Kevin Matthews, who now promotes WrestlePro in Alaska, New Jersey and several other States, announced yesterday that he'll be traveling to Colombia shortly to undergo BioXcellerator's stem cell therapy.

Over the last several years, BioXcellerator has become a premiere option for professional athletes using the therapy in order to heal physically and advance not just their professional exploits but also their quality of life.  Among those who have undergone the treatment including Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle, Edge, Brian Cage, Bobby Lashley, John Morrison, Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Rage, Rob Van Dam, Santino Marella, Ken Shamrock as well as MMA fighters including Matt Hughes, Gilbert Melendez, Henry Cejudo, Chael Sonnen and many, many others.

In making his announcement, Matthews stated, "Doctors here in the States told me I need a knee replacement [as] it’s too damaged. Doctors there disagreed and believe they can help (as do I). Both knees are bone on bone and arthritic with my left knee (5 surgeries) being far FAR worse. I found out earlier this year with my MRIs I have no labrum in my left shoulder and half in my right. I will be getting stem cells on both of those as well. Plus whatever else they find throughout all the testing that will be done. Everything will be documented by both myself and BioX."

BioXcellerator's website explained the science behind the therapy - "Regenerative medicine is a vanguard branch of medicine, which emerges through interdisciplinary research integrating various areas such as: cell biology, tissue engineering, gene therapy, cell therapy, cell immunotherapy, 3D bioprinting, therapy with exosomes, among others, according to the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR, for its acronym in English).  Regenerative medicine is based on the repair, replacement or regeneration of cells, tissues and / or organs by stimulating and enhancing the self-healing capabilities of the human body. Its fundamental principle is to restore the functionality of the tissues.  BioXcellerator Colombia, is a pioneer institution in the application of cellular therapies that meets the highest standards of quality, human resources, commitment and cutting-edge technologies under the medical direction of Dr. Karolynn Halpert."

In treating sports injuries, their website breaks down the process:

The therapy using bioXgel involves isolating the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a patient’s blood and inserting it back into the area that is going to be treated to encourage the body to heal itself. bioXgel not only encourages your body to heal itself, but it can also speed up the healing process.

During this procedure, a small amount of blood is extracted from the patient. The laboratory then isolates the plasma using a centrifuge. After isolating it, the doctor will insert the plasma back into the patient using an injection. For some areas, the doctor may use an imaging machine to guide the injection into the correct area.

The plasma causes temporary inflammation in the area, which signals the body’s natural healing system to act on the injury and correct the issue. During this process, the body will heal the underlying issue.

This therapy can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal issues. bioXgel has been effective in treating injuries such as broken or fractured bones, ligament and tendon issues, and muscle injuries.

Our product, bioXgel can also be used to heal the body after surgery or injury. Because of its ability to heal the body at a faster speed, this therapy is a popular treatment method in sports medicine.

In speaking with PWInsider.com this morning, Matthews agreed to sit down for pre and post-procedure interviews to discuss the therapy and its benefits to give a personal perspective on the journey and how the treatment assists his overall quality of life.  Matthews will be traveling to Colombia next month with the procedure taking place over five days.  We will have our first interview up before Matthews travels to Colombia and we thank him for sitting down for the conversations.  Elite subscribers can stay tuned for those audio discussions.

Matthews' WrestlePro Alaska returns to the Frontier State in August while WrestlePro New Jersey is slated to return in early-September.
