WWE SMACKDOWN REPORT: ROMAN VERSUS REY, MORE MATCHES FOR HELL IN A CELL, THE CROWN HAS ITS HOME, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2021-06-18 21:57:00

We begin with a look back at Rey Mysterio challenging Roman Reigns to a match at Hell in a Cell.

We are in Tampa, Florida and your announcers are Michael Cole and Pat McAfee.

We see the cell for Hell in a Cell and it is being lowered to be even with the ring post as Michael Cole mentions that we are going to have a Hell in a Cell match tonight.

Rey Mysterio's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

We see Rey's tweet to demand the pay per view match on Smackdown and Roman's acceptance.

Rey says any parent watching knows what I feel now.  The feeling of pain, hurt, and sadness.  I told my son, Dominik, the risks of competing in this ring.  This is, was, his dream.  He is able to walk but who knows when he will be back in the ring.  Roman Reigns picked up my son, the same son who laid in my arms to go to sleep and he tossed him like a back of bricks to the floor.  Rey says he will never forget the pain he saw in Dominik's eyes.  He will never forget the man who did this, Roman Reigns.  I can't wait one more day.  I want this match tonight.

Rey says he knows that Roman accepted the match last night but he wants to hear it from the table itself.

Rey wants the son of a bitch to come to the ring.

Instead of coming to the ring, the cell is lowered to the ground.

Roman's music plays and he makes his way to the stage with Paul Heyman.

Paul hands Roman the mic.

Roman says he doesn't want to hurt Rey.  This ain't his fault.  He says that Rey isn't ready for this.  You don't want to be locked in there with me.  What I did to your son last week was PG compared to what I am going to do to you.  Roman asks Rey if he really wants to do this.

Rey says he has never been more ready in his life.

Roman says he tried it your way and he tried to be diplomatic.  Now we do it my way.

Roman walks to the back.

We take a look at Commander Azeez.

Apollo Crews says tonight his secret weapon gets to step into the ring for the very first time.  Kevin Owens and Big E, you have felt the tip of his thumb, now you will know true pain.

We go to commercial.
