Want to get into professional wrestling? Join the queue. Every young kid that is obsessed with wrestling dreams of one day becoming a wrestling star. However, it’s a pretty tough gig to get into. If you’re serious about getting into the world of pro wrestling, you should try out one of these gateway hobbies first. They will give you some of the basic skills you’ll need to make it. 

Theatre

One of the most important skills for a wrestler is acting. You need to be able to act on a big stage in front of thousands of people. Without this ability, you’ll never make it. That’s why it’s a good idea to try your hand at the theatre first. This will get you used to performing under pressure and memorizing lines. If you don’t have any acting experience, you can join a community theatre and work your way up. This experience will prove invaluable in your wrestling career.  

Anime

Wrestlers need to have a larger-than-life personality. From stage names to costumes, everything needs to impress the crowds. Anime is a great place to get inspiration from. The characters in anime are similar to wrestlers in lots of ways. Plus, as anime gets more popular, it will probably find its way into the world of wrestling, so it’s good to get a head-start.

In many ways, wrestling is similar to telenovelas and soap operas. It includes a revolving cast of characters that show up in new storylines each week. Study these weekly shows to learn about acting, storylines, and other important skills you’ll need in a career as a wrestler. 

Documentaries

If you want to become a pro wrestler, you should study the history of wrestling. Watching wrestling documentaries will give you a good grounding in the sport and will teach you what works and what doesn’t. From the day of Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant to The Rock and The Undertaker, you should become a student of wrestling history. 

Wrestling games 

Wrestling games have always been popular among wrestling fans. They provide a chance to carry on the fun when there are no wrestling matches to watch. However, video games have changed a lot over the last 10 years and now they are more accurate than ever. You can learn a lot from a wrestling match. 

Martial arts 

Getting a grounding in martial arts is a great way to progress your career as a professional wrestler. While practicing martial arts, you will learn to defend against attacks, throw people, and fall safely. All of this knowledge will come in extremely handy when it comes to your first wrestling match. Most of the best wrestlers of all time were experts at martial arts as well. 

Bodybuilding 

To become a professional wrestler, you need to have an impressive physique. It doesn’t matter whether you’re short or tall, fat or thin, as long as you make the most of your body. Bodybuilding is a great way to start sculpting your body into the perfect shape for a wrestler.
