WHAT DO WWE STARS DO IN THEIR SPARE TIME?

When we think of our favorite sports stars, we often forget that, like us, they have lives outside of their work and things that they like to do to keep themselves entertained, often assuming that their chosen sport is their entire life. For many of the WWE stars, this certainly seems to be the case, with claims backing up the assertion that wrestling is like an addiction for the pumped-up stars.

Amongst the current roster of WWE stars, however, it appears that this isn’t necessarily the case. Despite spending a whopping 300 days a year on the road – leaving just 65 days free to enjoy to themselves – there are those who dedicate their time to hobbies and activities that they enjoy and that may surprise the vast majority of WWE fans!  

Creative Construction

Usually associated with children and those of the younger generations, Lego has often been dismissed by adults but, as Finn Balor proves, these adults are clearly missing out on all types of fun! Preferring to live a much quieter life outside of the WWE ring, Balor allowed documentary makers to film his outside pursuits – which included dedicating time and effort to constructing different Lego sets in an effort to unwind.

Kooky Cosplay

Xavier Woods and Braun Strowman prefer to do a little dressing up in their spare time to relax and have fun. Woods is a huge fan of dressing up as his favorite characters and is unafraid of showcasing his nerdier side, attending well-known nerd conventions such as Comic-Con whenever his busy schedule will allow. 

Strowman, however, despite his beefy frame and menacing stare, particularly enjoys fancy dress, often choosing to dress up as his favorite female characters and, on one occasion, as Santa Claus! Now that’s a turn up for the books.

Horror movie fan, Alexa Bliss, has also been known to don Cosplay costumes during her time in the ring, once even dressing up as Freddy Krueger in homage to her favorite genre of film!

Collectors’ Items

While we all love to collect things as a hobby, the wrestlers of WWE have some of the more unique collectors’ passions. While Johnny Gargano, Kofi Kingston, and Braun Strowman could be considered as collecting more generically expected collectors’ items – Funko Pops, obscure comic books, and firearms, respectively – there are some more unusual collectors amongst the WWE stars. Rey Mysterio has a penchant for collecting swords, spending a heck of a lot of money building his collection to demonstrate his fascination. Meanwhile, the notoriously private Baron Corbin has an unusual collection of human skulls that just about rounds off his morbid interests – they sit pride of place on shelves around his home. Creepy, right?

Keeping Fit, Having Fun

When not in the ring, WWE stars occasionally like to partake in different sports activities for fun. Bayley has a particular love of the pogo stick, frequently posting herself on social media pogoing away. John Cena, meanwhile, enjoys the more tranquil sport of golf during his spare time! 

Other WWE stars enjoy keeping up with other sports, including hockey, surfing, football, and even baseball, taking the opportunity to go on ESPN to discuss their thoughts and predictions for upcoming games. Not only that, but they also enjoy taking the opportunity to splash some cash on online casino games as a way to unwind while still having fun. 

Animal Antics

Perhaps less unusual, there are a number of WWE stars that enjoy spending time with their pets and other animals. Alexa Bliss has a gorgeous collection of pet pigs that she has a lot of love for, while William Regal appears to feel affinity with reptilians such as snakes, lizards, and turtles, all of which feature in his reptile collection. 

Sami Zayn is a frequenter of local cat cafes, enjoy spending time with feline friends while also taking time to chill out and relax.

So, it seems that some of your favorite wrestling stars are really just like you (although others measure up more to the unusual characters they’ve created in the ring)! They may work hard, but they certainly enjoy taking some time to themselves to enjoy their hobbies.
