THE FOUNDATION VS. KENNY KING & DRAGON LEE: RING OF HONOR TV REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2021-06-15 17:47:00

Our host, the lovely Quinn McKay, welcomes us to this week's episdoe and recaps Demonic Flamita's victory over Rey Horus last week to advance to the 6 way Survival of the Fittest Finals.  Also last week on ROH Week by Week, Brian Johnson pinned Sledge to advance.

Survival of the Fittest: Eli Isom vs. Dak Draper

Last time these 2 squared off, they battled to an excellent 15 minute draw.  We"re treated to an excellent pre match video between the 2.  Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman are on the call.  Draper is no stranger to tournaments, having won the 2019 Top Prospect.  The lights go out and Dalton Castle comes out.  This is interesting.  He sashays his way to the ring.  He's a great heel and I'm glad he's back in this position.  Remember a few weeks ago he interfered at the conclusion of the Isom v Draper match.  Kick to the midsection by Draper, Isom shoves him to outside and nails a tope. Isom throws him back in and nails a series of forearms.  Backdrop by Draper but Isom holds on and hits a sunset of his own for 2.  Draper rolls out.  Castle's boys are acting as cheerleaders for everything they do.  Castle is clearly trying to get into the heads of both guys.  Deadlift superplex for 2 by Draper.

Stomps by Draper, he rakes Isom's eyes on his boot and goes into ground and pound.  The Boys and Castle are stalking the ring.  Kneedrop by Draper for 2.  Isom slips out of a German and we get some mat wrestling, jockeying for position.  Draper gets the edge and nails an uppercut and an axehandle for 2.  High cross body by Draper and both go over the top.  They boys offer encouragement to both.  Isom gets thrown in the direction of Castle and the Boys, they scurry away.  Draper is clearly confused by this.  Body squeeze by Draper, Isom makes the ropes, Draper goes back to it, he rolls him up for 2.  Schoolboy by Isom for 2.  Small package by Draper for 2.  Back elbow by Isom, big right hand my Draper into a Dr. Bomb for 2.  Isom kicks out of the Mile High Muffler and hits a running forearm. Sidewinder by Eli for 2.  Ian and Caprice keep talking about the upsets Eli is getting.  At this point, his wins may not be upsets.  Castle and the Boys leave as he has a prior engagement.  Eli nails The Promise (brain buster) for the pin.

WINNER: Eli Isom

Chris Dickinson vs O'Shay Edwards will highlight Week By Week this week in a Survival of the Fittest 1st Round match

ROH World Tag Team Title: Rhett Titus and Tracey Williams (ROH World Tag Team Champions) vs. Dragon Lee & Kenny King

As a reminder, ALL Titus and Williams title defenses from this point on will be contested under Pure Rules

As a reminder, in a Pure Rules tag team match, a save counts as a rope break AND the titles can change hands on a DQ or count out.  King and Titus start off with mat wrestling, hammerlock by King.  Titus counters with a headscissors, King counters into a front facelock, Titus with a double leg takedown into a hammerlock.  Williams tags in and nails a reverse atomic drop into a cloverleaf, King makes the ropes for their first rope break.  Armlock takedown by Williams, King with a headscossors. Froearm by King, Lee with a tag in and a series of chops, Williams fires back.  Big chop exchange.  Hurancanrana by Lee, the roll to the outside.  Lee sends Williams into the barricade.  Back in the ring, Lee with a double stomp as we go to commercial.

We're back and it's Williams with a belly to back.  Arm Twist by Hot Sauce.  Kick by Lee.  King tags back in and nails some ground and pound. Crossface by King.  Lee tags in and nails a hard knee and a forearm smash, he spits at Titus and continues to pound away at Williams.  King tags in but a forearm by Williams.  Titus tags in and hits a neckbreaker.  Belly to belly by Titus for 2. He applies crossface and King makes the ropes.  The challengers are out of breaks.  Dragonscrew by King into a Bow and Arrow, Titus makes the save for a a rope break.  Titus tags in and nails a big boot.  Lee tags in after a follow up miss and he hits a kick of his own and series of forearms and a dropkick form 2.  Titus blocks a suplex and nails leg kicks.  Clothesline by titus for 2. Williams tags in and Dragon lee immediately hits a tackle.  King hits a royal flush for 2, the pin is broken up at 2 for the champions second rope break.
