COMPLETE WWE NXT TAKEOVER: IN YOUR HOUSE GLOBAL PRESS CONFERENCE COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2021-06-12 11:58:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's coverage of the NXT TakeOver: In Your House Global Press Conference, which streamed this morning on Peacock, the WWE Network and WWE's social media channels.

They opened with Todd Pettengill coming out of the In Your House house.  He said he's back.  He told a story that the first time he was walking out of the first In Your House PPV set, Gorilla Monsoon had locked it from the outside.  He ran down the details on the PPV and introduced Wade Barrett, who came out to run down the questions for the talents assembled.

The first question was to Karrion Kross - who is the biggest threat to his WWE NXT title in the Fatal Five Way.  Kross said that Kyle O'Reilly is the hungriest and has the most to prove.  He said Kyle is coming out of a shadow he never should have been in to begin with.

The second question was to Raquel Gonzalez and to her improvement over the last year.  She said she has put under the spotlight and that creates pressure but she works best under pressure and she works harder than anyone.

Adam Cole was asked how he ended up with a title match on the PPV as he hasn't won a singles match in a career.  Cole said he's been carrying the company on his back since he arrived and he deserves it because he had the title for 400+ days.  People are excited for the match because he's in it and it's the main event because he's in it.

Pete Dunne was asked about the main event.  He said he's young but has the best experience.

I asked Ember Moon about her bout with Raquel given all the work she's put in to recover from her injuries.  She said it's about the drive and determination to do what she does best and do everything she's wanted to do since she was a kid.  Walking through the curtain is like living a dream and she looks at it as if she could be doing it for the last time.

Kyle was asked if Adam Cole being in the main event prevents him from being a star in NXT.  Kyle said everyone who made it to NXT is a star.  He said being in the main event makes him a star.  No one shadows and when he wins the title, everyone will know he is a star.

Cameron Grimes was asked what makes him different from LA Knight and what makes him deserving of the Million Dollar Title.   Grimes said he worked from the bottom and worked his way up.  He did his over the top spiel knocking Knight and putting himself over without really answering the question.

LA Knight was asked if this will be his big breakout performance on Takeover tomorrow.  He said he's a self-made man and will be a self-made Million Dollar Champion.  He's going to win the title and that means he's be having a breakout performance.

Johnny Gargano was asked if he revenge on his mind for the PPV main event.  He said he is spiteful but thinks he should thank Adam Cole.  He went to Gargano's father's restaurant and disrespected him yet people still cheered him.  That was two years ago and two weeks ago, Cole threw a chair in his face.  Everyone wants to kick Cole's teeth out and on Monday, he hopes Gargano knows a good dentist.

Raquel Gonzalez was asked about Dakota Kai.  She said Dakota was the only person who believed in her and without her, she never would have debuted and wouldn't be champion.  She has Dakota's back and Dakota has her back.

Ember was asked what she is taking into the title bout from her previous experience as champion.  She has to learn not to let her temper get the better of her.  She gets mad and she gets sloppy.  She expects anything tomorrow but is staying level-headed.  She will be a more level-headed Ember Moon.  She's looking for revenge and "we all know how that's going to end."

Cameron Grimes was asked what it's like working with Ted DiBiase.  Grimes said he wishes he could give an answer but all Ted has done is embarrassed him.  If Ted was working with him, Grimes wouldn't be fighting in a Ladder Match.

Gargano was asked about how importance it is to be the NXT Champion again.  Gargano said his title run was an embarrassment.  He said a few weeks ago, the NXT Twitter account asked fans for favorite moments and his name trended because he was in so many.  He said this weekend he will leave no doubt that he's the man in NXT.

LA Knight was asked what the key factors a talent should have to hold the legacy of Ted DiBiase.  Knight said that he'd like to say it was an honor to be up here with the talents but that's a lie.  It's an honor for them to be with him.  He said the only piece of the puzzle left for him is being a Millionaire.    He said he has everything else that is needed and will prove it.

Pete Dunne was asked which of his opponents are closest to his level.  He said everyone competing is technically sound, especially Kyle O'Reilly, but no one else has the technical knowledge he does.  He's the best at what he does.

Kyle O'Reilly said he would become the NXT Champion.

Adam Cole was asked if he needed to be champion again.  He said he doesn't need to prove anything at this point.  He's the greatest NXT star and greatest NXT Champion of all time.  He's main evented Raw, Smackdown and had the match of the night at Survivor Series.  He wants the title back for him, but not for anyone else.

Johnny Gargano was asked about his place in NXT.  NXT is the "A" show and has the best talent and best locker room in the world and he's the best.  He's been here as long as he can remember, because he doesn't take days off and needs to bring the "A" game at all time.  He's been letting the kids drive over the last year but now Daddy's taking the wheel.

Cameron Grimes was asked why he hates shirts.  Oh lord.  He doesn't need a shirt to show everyone he's the top guy here.  He said he's a slob and probably stinks but he dresses the way a top guy is supposed to.   He said Karrion Kross looks like he bought his suit in a thrift shop.

Karrion Kross was asked about facing four opponents at once tomorrow.  He said his biggest concern, if he's honest, is Kyle forcing Adam Cole to submit.

Adam Cole was asked about potentially being the first-ever three-time WWE NXT Champion.  Adam said he was going to be a two-time champion this weekend.  He's been the top guy for every promotion he ever worked for because he's that damn good.  Proving he's the greatest of all time will be a joy for him.  He can't wait.

Raquel Gonzalez was asked about following the legacy of Rey Mysterio and Eddy Guerrero.  She said it is a big, huge honor to have her name in the same conversations of those names but it tells her that she belongs here in NXT.  She is on the level she put herself on.  People can say anything they want about her or her talents but she's the top.

Ember Moon was asked potentially winning the title twice.  She said winning the title multiple times doesn't make you the best.  The opponents you beat on the path to becoming champion is what makes you the best.  She said beating Raquel will show she is the best and she will be up there with Bayley, Sasha, Charlotte, Asuka, etc.

Pete Dunne was asked about his championship experience in the past and whether it gives him an advantage.  He said everyone here has championship experience.  When Takeover comes around, it's a war and it's a war tomorrow.  He said he has the experience and he's going to go through a war.

LA Knight was asked his prediction for tomorrow and when he's going to hold his first title.  Knight said he's not going to take anything away from Cameron Grimes but he can't deny he's also walking human waste.  He's going to be the new Million Dollar Championship tomorrow but some day down the line, he's walking away with the WWE NXT title.

Kyle O'Reilly was asked if Cole deserves to be in the title match.  O'Reilly said he's a gas station weasel and he weaseled himself into the match.  Cole will never be far from the main event.  He deserves to be there and he deserves to get his ass kicked by the other four.

Gargano was asked about potentially winning the NXT title and what the difference is.  He said last time he won it for the people but now he's going to do it for the people who don't think he is the face of a company.  He said he doesn't pass the airport test.  He doesn't stand out in an airport but if you put him in a ring, he will show the world what a star looks like.

Moon was asked if she's going to continue in the Tag division.  She said when Shotzi Blackheart is better, that's the plan.

Adam Cole was asked if he's anxious to move to Raw or Smackdown.  Cole said he's not anxious about anything.  He could potentially show up and if he did, he would run those brands.  He said he hasn't done everything he can do in NXT.  He has an attachment to the brand.  He's proud to be part of the brand but has more to accomplish.

Raquel Gonzalez said Ember has experience but she wrestled Io Shirai and Mercedes Martinez.  People need to accept she's the champion and she is the dominant.  If anyone is going to hold two titles, it's going to be her not Ember.

Karrion Kross was asked if he's going to go down in history as the best NXT champ of all time.  He said that's something the fans can decide and not putting it on himself.  He plans to stay the champ forever and he doesn't plan to be in NXT forever.  He's going to beat the sh** out of the other four competitors and he's going to leave with the title, because it's personal.
