PRO WRESTLING GUERRILLA ANNOUNCES RETURN

By Oliver Taylor on 2021-06-10 21:11:00

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has announced its long-awaited return will finally take place on Sunday, August 1.

PWG, one of the premiere independent wrestling companies in America, has not held a show since December 20, 2019, due to the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic.

Due to PWG being unable to hold any shows since then, current PWG World Championship holder Bandido has the unique honor of the longest ever reign despite having not made a single defense of the title yet.

No announcements regarding matches or talent have been made yet.

The state of the wrestling industry has changed considerably since PWG’s last show. PWG was set to hold its Kobe event in honor of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant on March 29 last year and the full card was:

• Aramis and Rey Horus vs. Jude London and Paris De Silva
• David Starr vs. Jeff Cobb
• Mick Moretti vs. Orange Cassidy
• Black Taurus vs. Brody King vs. Caveman Ugg vs. JD Drake
• Dragon Lee vs. Flamita
• Alex Zayne, Blake Christian and Tony Deppen vs. Dezmond Xavier, Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz
• PWG World Championship: Bandido (c) vs. Jonathan Gresham

PWG will not be able to hold the same card, or even a similar card, on August 1. Alex Zayne, Blake Christian, Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz are all signed to WWE while Caveman Ugg, Jude London, Mick Moretti and Paris De Silva would be unable to travel from Australia.
