NEW JAPAN DOMINION RESULTS, ANOTHER BIG NIGHT FOR JEFF COBB, DDT WRESTLE PETER PAN DETAILS AND MORE FROM JAPAN

New Japan Pro Wrestling

New Japan Pro Wrestling held its Dominion show today in Osaka-j? Hall.

The full results were:

• Chase Owens, El Phantasmo, EVIL, Taiji Ishimori and Yujiro Takahashi def. Hirooki Goto, Hiroshi Tanahashi, SHO, Tomohiro Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI
• BUSHI, SANADA and Tetsuya Naito def. DOUKI, Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr.
• IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: El Desperado (c) def. YOH
• Kota Ibushi def. Jeff Cobb
• IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Shingo Takagi def. Kazuchika Okada

Hiromu Takahashi made a surprise appearance to begin the show. He said his left pectoral injury is healing well and he will return soon.

Taiji Ishimori pinned SHO to win the opening match. After the bout, Bullet Club continued to attack their opponents. Dick Togo, EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi posed with Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI’s NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships.

SANADA pinned Zack Sabre Jr. to win the second match. A formal challenge was not made in the ring, but it was strongly implied SANADA and Tetsuya Naito will face Dangerous Tekkers for the IWGP Tag Team Championships.

El Desperado made his first successful defense of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against YOH. El Phantasmo and Ishimori came to the ring afterwards and announced they will challenge SHO and YOH for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships on New Japan’s upcoming Kizuna Road tour.

Ishimori also challenged Desperado for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.

Kota Ibushi defeated Jeff Cobb in a great match. Cobb has elevated to a new level in 2021 and looked like he truly belonged in the same ring as Ibushi today.

Shingo Takagi defeated Kazuchika to win the vacant IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in a brilliant main event. Takagi called out Ibushi as his first challenger for the title and the two squared off in the ring to end the show.

Dragon Gate

Dragon Gate held its third Rainbow Gate 2021 tour show today in Yonago Convention Center Big Ship.

The full results were:

• Dia Inferno and KAI def. Dragon Dia and Kota Minoura
• Ho Ho Lun, Naruki Doi and Ryo Saito def. Gamma, Problem Dragon and Ultimo Dragon
• BxB Hulk and KAZMA SAKAMOTO vs. Kagetora and Keisuke Okuda – No Contest
• Jason Lee, La Estrella and Shun Skywalker def. Funky Jacky Kamei, Kzy and Susumu Yokosuka
• Ben-K, Dragon Kid and YAMATO def. Diamante, Eita and SB KENTo

DDT Pro-Wrestling

DDT Pro-Wrestling will hold its Wrestle Peter Pan 2021 show in Fujitsu Stadium on August 21, it was announced at DDT, Pro Wrestling NOAH and Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling’s joint press conference today.

There will be two rings, one of which will be used for an explosion deathmatch featuring Atsushi Onita, and the show will be headlined by Jun Akiyama’s fourth defense of the KO-D Openweight Championship.

Akiyama said he will pick Sanshiro Takagi as his challenger for Wrestle Peter Pan 2021 if he wins the upcoming King of DDT tournament.

Raimu Imai and TAMURA will also wrestle at Wrestle Peter Pan 2021.

Toi Kojima dislocated his left elbow during the CyberFight Festival 2021 yesterday and will be sidelined indefinitely.

JUST TAP OUT Professional Wrestling has announced KANON and Ren Ayabe will face Minoru Suzuki and TAKA Michinoku at its two-year anniversary show on July 7 in Korakuen Hall.
