THE FORMER STEVE CUTLER DEBUTS FOR IMPACT WRESTLING

By Mike Johnson on 2021-06-03 21:36:00

Steve Maclin, formerly known as Steve Cutler during his time in World Wrestling Entertainment, made his Impact Wrestling TV debut tonight with a vignette teasing his impending arrival in the promotion.  The vignette (seen above) showcased him taking a stiff drink and looking intense before the name MACLIN was showcased.

Maclin, 34, was signed to WWE NXT in 2014 and worked under the name Steve Cutler.  In 2016, he formed a regular tag team with Wesley Blake, working with a number of NXT's teams of that era.  In 2018, they were dubbed The Forgotten Sons, working alongside Jaxson Ryker.  The group were moved up to the Smackdown brand following Wrestlemania 36.  The trio received an early push with wins over The New Day and the Lucha House Party, but after appearing in a Fatal Four Way bout at the 2020 Money in the Bank PPV, they were not utilized again.  Maclin was released in April 2021.

When reached by PWInsider.com for comment on Maclin's pending Impact debut tonight after the vignette aired, Maclin's original trainer Danny Cage of The Monster Factory in New Jersey stated, "You have to remember that Maclin only had 18 matches when he was signed to a WWE contract. Now eight years later, he finally gets to show the world what he is really about. Creatively. His vision. His words. How he'd say them.  His actions.  All him.  So, I'm very anxious to see how Do or Die Steve Maclin tells his story. There are so many layers to him. So I'm ready for this!"

The same evening Maclin's vignette aired, he was making his debut for Beyond Wrestling in New England.
