ZERO1 PUSHES BACK ANNIVERSARY SHOW, FINAL KING OF GATE BLOCK SHOW, MISAWA MEMORIAL AND MORE FROM JAPAN

Dragon Gate

Dragon Gate held its final King of Gate block show today in Fukuyama Big Rose.

The full results were:

• King of Gate B block: SB KENTo def. Kzy
• King of Gate C block: H.Y.O vs. Shun Skywalker – Double Countout
• Jason Lee and Kota Minoura def. Ryo Saito and Ultimo Dragon
• Dragon Kid, Keisuke Okuda and YAMATO def. Kagetora, Punch Tominaga and Takashi Yoshida
• BxB Hulk, Diamante, Eita and Kaito Ishida def. Genki Horiguchi, Shachihoko Boy, Susumu Yokosuka and U-T
• King of Gate Second Chance Battle Royal: Kzy

SB KENTo won B block with six points after defeating Kzy. However, Kzy later won the second chance battle royal. They will face off again in the semifinals at Dragon Gate’s show on June 3 in Korakuen Hall.

H.Y.O versus Shun Skywalker ended in a double countout, meaning YAMATO won C block with seven points. He will face A block winner Kota Minoura on June 3.

Pro Wrestling ZERO1 held a show today in Korakuen Hall.

Masato Tanaka made his first successful defense of the World Heavyweight Championship against CIMA in the main event.

ZERO1 announced the full field for this year’s Fire Festival tournament.

The tournament will start on July 2 in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. The final will be held on August 1 in Korakuen Hall.

Noticeable by his absence is Hayato Tamura, who was the runner-up of last year’s tournament and most recently held the World Heavyweight Championship.

The field is down to 12 competitors from 14 competitors last year. In addition to Tamura, Quiet Storm, T-Hawk, Towa Iwasaki, Yuji Hino and Yuko Miyamoto are all out of the tournament while Ayato Yoshida, Fuminori Abe, Shigehiro Irie and Yoshiki Inamura are new additions.

ZERO1 announced its show in Ry?goku Kokugikan will take place on April 10 next year.

The show was scheduled to take place on March 14 this year to celebrate the company’s twentieth anniversary. However, the Japan Sumo Association moved its annual March tournament from EDION Arena Osaka to Tokyo and ZERO1 were left without a venue.

DDT Pro-Wrestling held a show today in Kumamoto.

Abdullah Kobayashi defeated Suzu Suzuki in a hardcore match at Ice Ribbon’s show today.

New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Minoru Suzuki will face Tomoka Inaba at JUST TAP OUT Professional Wrestling’s show in Warabi, Saitama on June 6.
