It's Friday Night! And you know what that means (actually it means my social life is such that I have nothing else to do on a Friday night). AEW Dynamite is live from Daily's Place. Jim Ross, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone have the call of tonight's action
Darby Allin w/Sting vs Cezar Bononi w/Peter Avalon, JD Drake & Ryan Nemeth
Allin and Bonani exchange chops. Allin goes for the Fujiwara but Bononi powers out and slams him. Bononi fires away at the injured ribcage of Allin. Bononi tosses Allin across the ring and then rag dolls him into the corner. Action spills to the ramp and Bononi tosses Darby back in and nails a series of 2 counts. Bononi stomps down on the back. Darby slides behind a slam and tries a sleeper. It doesn't work but Darby with a stunner followed by a coffin drop for the pin.
WINNER: Darby Allin
Darby Allin grabs the mic and wants Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page tonight. Page and Sky emerge with a warning about Sunday. As they do, Bonani and his wingmen attack, allowing Sky and Page to join in. As Sting's leg is about to get Pillmanized, Dark Order comes out to make the save.
Miro vs Dante Martin for the TNT Title is announced for later.
Time for a good, old fashioned weigh-in, hosted by Paul Wight, after the break.
The crowd is definitely lively tonight as it looks like Dailey's is at full capacity. For those who remember Fight for the Fallen 2019. the setup is pretty much the same. I admit I really like the ramps coming in from the side. It just looks different.
Old Glory and the Union Jack are displayed. Wight tells us there'll be no shenanigans, which pretty much guarantees there will be. QT Marshall, Ogogo and the Factory come out. Wight punks him out for bringing out a group. Cody comes out with 1/2 of North Florida, which brings no derision from Wight. Cody is having a hard time weighing in, as he claims he couldn't afford a digital scale. Rhodes is 218 and fireworks go off. Fireworks for a weigh in. Ogogo checks in at 219. QT is very excited over Ogogo "winning" the weigh in. He seems angry at the fans. Cody asks the fans to give it up for Paul Wight. And that was it.
We get a video package for Stadium Stampede II, along with comments from a variety of AEW personalities.
Powerhouse Hobbs and Christian Cage are brawling in the back. Cage spears him down and the referees pull them apart. Taz has joined the booth to scout Brian Cage's opponent tonight.
Adam Page vs. Joey Janela w/Sonny Kiss
The All In rematch begins with a lockup into a headlock by Page. Page with a side headlock takeover, Janela breaks it at the ropes. Another lockup, Janela with a chop in the corner, Page fires back but misses the follow-up. Hangman with a suplex. Janela fires back with forearms but Page sends him over the top rope. Janela avoides the baseball slide and tries a cross body. Page catches him and hits a fallaway slam on the outside. Page rolls him back in and scores a 2 count. The announcers inform us of some pending tension between tag team partners Kiss and Janela as we go to commercial.
We are back and Janela and Page are fighting it out on the apron. Page with a springboard dropkick and a high cross body block to the out side and throws him back. Spinebuster by Page. Janela escapes the deadeye and rolls Page up for 2. Janela with a belly to belly into the buckles and nails an elbow off the top for 2. Rolling elbow by Page followed by another. Buckshot Lariat by a bloody Hangman and he scores the pin.
WINNER: Adam Page
Taz brings out Brian Cage and the rest of Team Taz follows. Page is a bloody mess. Page questions if Cage is the type of man to need all that help. Cage tells Page that Team Taz won't be out on Sunday night.
Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley are in a yard somewhere with the Young Bucks' sneakers before TNT abruptly goes to commercial. We're back and the segment restarts. Moxley and Kingston are heavily focused on the AEW World Tag Team Championship. These two are great together.
Tony Schiavone brings out Orange Cassidy to get his response to Don Callis' offer to defer his title shot. Before Cassidy comes out, Pac charges the ring and "apologizes" for interrupting things. He reiterates Cassidy's supposed irrelevance before calling Omega pathetic and a clown show. Don Callis appears on the big screen. He calls Pac a soul-less sociopath and Omega charges the ring, only to be get cut off by Pac. This brings out The Good Brothers, who briefly get the advantage until Penta and Rey Fenix chase them off. Omega goes to nail Pac with the One Winged Angel and Orange Cassidy comes out. He gives Omega the contract offer to defer his title shot. It's shredded. Cassidy nails the Orange Punch to both Omega and Pac. Pac poses with the AEW World title.
We have a pre recorded interview with Jade Cargill. She almost answers a question before Matt Hardy comes out, as does MJF's attorney Mark Sterling, who it's announced has signed her as his client. Didn't see that one coming
Jade Cargill w/Mark Sterling vs. Kilyn King
Test of strength to kicks things off, Jade with a gut kick and a stomp. King avoids a clothesline but gets caught while attempting a cross body. Cargill with a fallaway slam as we head to commercial.
I don't understand how Mark Sterling enhances the Jade Cargill presentation, which I honestly thought was really improving all these last few weeks.
We are back and Jade with a snap suplex. King with a series of forearms. Ross sounds like his voice is going out on him. Big right hand by Cargill and King slumps to the floor. Cargill with the Wheelbarrow powerbomb and she scores the pin.
WINNER: Jade Cargill
Jake Roberts and Lance Archer talk about Miro, and how bad they want him to win tonight because the Murderhawk isn't interested in young Daunte Martin
TNT Championship: Miro (TNT Champion) vs. Daunte Martin
I love what Martin brings to the table, but this needs to be brutal and quick. Kneelift by Miro and batters him in the corner. Overhead belly to belly by the champion. Kick to the back by Miro. Martin with a jawbreaker but Miro puts him down but misses a splash. Springboard moonsault by Martin for 1. Shotgun dropkick by Martin for 1. Miro with a pinch and a suplex, followed by a thrust kick by Miro. Miro with the Accolate and Martin taps out.
WINNER AND STILL TNT CHAMPION: Miro
Jake Roberts and Lance Archer come out to the ramp and offer threats for Sunday night. Miro tries to answer but the mic isn't working. It eventually does and he invites Archer to fight. Archer storms the ring and they fight for a few moments before the officials come out and break it up.
It's a celebration for Hikaru Shida, who is celebrating one full year as AEW World Women's champion. She is presented a brand new title belt. Similar to the original but the center plate is bigger and more gold-plated. Much nicer if you ask me. Shida is thrilled to see a crowd in attendance. She got about 46 seconds of a promo before Britt Baker (sans Rebel) The Role Model congratulates her on her reign. She wants to take back something she said 2 weeks ago about being the face of the division. Come Sunday, she'll be the face of an era, similar to 3:16.
Evil Uno and Stu Grayson w/ Dark Order vs. All Ego Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky
The rest of Dark Order leaves the ring as Sky and Uno kick us off. We have a lockup. Belly to back takedown by Sky. Arm twist by sky, reversed by Uno. Uno with a takedown into a top wrist lock, Sky makes the ropes and makes the tag. Page and Grayson battle it out after Stu nails a dive to the outside on Sky. Grayson with a senton to the apron. He goes for a springboard but gets tripped up and lands shoulder first on the apron. THAT looked scary as we head to commercial.
We are back and Grayson with a uranage, he gets the tag to Evil Uno, who nails a hurancanrana to Page. Flatliner to Sky. Page goes for a kick. Uno catches it and hands the leg to Bryce Remsburg. Uno then hits a neckbreaker. Uno tags in Grayson and they hit their cannonball, top rope splash for 2 on Page. Uno tags in. Page immediately catches him in the Ego's Edge for the pin while Sky keeps Grayson ay bay with a heel hook.
WINNERS: Ethan Page and Darby Allin
Here comes Darby Allin with a whole lot of guys dressed as Sting. Most of them get beaten quickly until the real Sting emerges. Page and Sky run off.
The announcers run down the Double or Nothing card. Next week's Dynamite will be also be on Friday at 10 PM
Eric Bischoff comes out as he is the host of tonight's Inner Circle Celebration. He reminds us that we're 25 years and 1 day removed from Scott Hall's arrival on Nitro, giving birth to the greatest faction of all time. He introduces the group he says could give them a run for their money. No way Jacksonville isn't doing a HUGE singalong for "Judas". Jericho thanks Eric Bischoff for everything he did for his career. We get a highlight package of the history of the Inner Circle. Good to see Santana back after his incarceration (special thanks to our own Mike Johnson for bailing him out in time to get the interview). Santana almost seems to be giving a farewell speech (remember, they must break up should they lose at Double or Nothing), as is Hager. Sammy Guevara even gives an "if we lose" scenario. I'm really thinking they might split these guys up. Jericho tells his men that he loves them. MJF and Wardlow appear at the stadium, having beaten up Dean Malenko. The Inner Cicle run out to save him but get jumped by the rest of the Pinnacle. Proud and Powerful get piledriven through tables. The Pinnacle pose as we go to credits.
