TANAHASHI & IBUSHI VS. COBB & O-KHAN: 5/25 NJPW ROAD TO WRESTLE GRAND SLAM IN TOKYO RESULTS

5/25/21 Results for New Japan's Road to Wrestle Grand Slam In From Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan

Tomoaki Honma is on Japanese commentary.  

Yota Tsuji vs. Chase Owens.  Owens pins Tsuji after a Package Piledriver.

DOUKI and Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Taiji Ishimori and Yujiro Takahashi.  ZSJ forces Takahashi to submit to an Octopus Lock.

Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Master Wato vs. Tanga Loa and Tama Tonga, with Jado.  Tama Tonga pins Wato after G.O.D. drop him with a Magic Killer.

Ryusuke Taguchi, YOSHI-HASHI, Tomohiro Ishii and Hirooki Goto vs. BUSHI, Shingo Takagi, SANADA and Tetsuya Naito.  Ishii attacks Naito before all of his team is announced.   Everyone spills out of the ring except Ishii and Naito who blast each other with elbows.  Naito tagged out to Takagi, but Ishii kept wanting to go after Naito.  Wild fast paced match.     Takagi pins Taguchi with Made in Japan.  Naito and Ishii continue elbow each other in the face after the match, until the referee breaks them up.  Naito looks seriously pissed at Ishii, which is a different attitude as Naito is normally playing mind games with everyone.   This could be leading to either to a singles match between the two wrestlers, or NEVER Openweight 6-man Title defense.  Takagi gets the pinfall win on back-to-back nights.   They are preparing Shingo to be in the IWGP World Title picture.

Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kota Ibushi vs. Great O-Khan and Jeff Cobb.  Cobb and Ibushi start the match and battle to a stalemate.  Good stuff here.  Tanahashi and O-Khan tag in and O-Khan goes after Tanahashi's leg.  Cobb attacks Ibushi and they battle on the ring floor.   Cobb and Ibushi are back in the ring and Ibushi gets a two count with a standing moonsault.    Ibushi tries for a Kamigoye but Cobb blocks it.  He runs Ibushi into the corner turnbuckle and hits a dropkick to the Ibushi.  Cobb hits a moonsault of his own, but only a two count.  Ibushi avoids a Tour of the Islands and hits Cobb with a Pele Kick.   Tanahashi tags in and Cobb spins him around the ring with a back suplex.   O-Khan tags in and attacks his leg in a Tree of Woe.  O-Khan traps Tanahashi in an abdominal stretch with an Iron Claw.   Tanahashi will not give up.   Tanahashi stuns O-Khan with a Slingblade and tags in Ibushi.   Ibushi rocks O-Khan with a flying striking kick.  Tanahashi comes in and they double team O-Khan.   Ibushi hits O-Khan with a high kick in the head.   Ibushi grabs O-Khan to hit a Kamigoye.   Cobb grabs Tanahashi is about to give him a Kamigoye.   Ibushi lets go of O-Khan.   Cobb tries for a Kamigoye but misses and Tanahashi hits him with Twist and Shout.   Cobb rolls out of the ring.   Ibushi goes to hit O-Khan with the Kamagoye, but O-Khan powers out and applies a Claw to Ibushi.   O-Khan goes for an Eliminator but Ibushi hits him with a high knee to the face.   

Ibushi blasts O-Khan in the face with Kamigoye.   Cobb tries to help his partner but Tanahashi holds him back.    Ibushi pins O-Khan.

Cobb and Ibushi meet face to face.   Cobb tells Ibushi he wants him one on one.  Cobb offers his hand.   Ibushi goes to shake it and Cobb gives him a middle finger.  Tanahashi and Ibushi address the audience to send them home happy.
