THE ENTERTAINING PLACES WHERE WRESTLING IS HAVING A BIG INFLUENCE

By Kendall Jenkins on 2021-05-20 07:55:00

Believe it or not, wrestling has been fascinating people for over 15,000 years. Whilst, back in the day, they may not have had the powerful personas and the iconic moves they have today, it just goes to show how long-lasting the sport is.

Now, its popularity continues, and it’s not just in the ring that wrestling makes an appearance. Whether talking about the sport itself or the people that take part, here are a couple of places in popular culture where wrestling is having a big influence.

Las Vegas and Casinos

It’s no secret that Las Vegas is a huge hub for global entertainment. As well as casinos and singing, where would it be without its wrestling? And bringing the two worlds together is the perfect combination of sports meets iconic nightlife.

One of the best things about putting Vegas and wrestling together is that you don’t necessarily have to go to Sin City to experience this great mix. Today, thanks to modern technology, there are many ways to enjoy the fusion of Vegas and wrestling wherever you are in the world.

There are a few ways you can do this. First of all, you can enjoy some wrestling-themed slot games where you can be your favourite wrestler’s avatar. Alternatively, you can play specific Vegas-style games, like the ones available at Spin Casino, to remind you of the wonderful concoction that wrestling and Vegas creates. Sites such as this provide a review summarising the overall experience with the key highlights. It lists the Microgaming based games, slots and even wins bonuses that the site hosts so it’s always best to research first.

You can, of course, combine the Vegas and wrestling experience most famously too, and that’s to catch live Vegas-based wrestling on TV. What’s more is that, as this IMDB Site shows, the original 1980s TV series GLOW is a wrestling show set and filmed in Vegas. This is another option to not only enjoy the combination of wrestling and Las Vegas but to enjoy both no matter where you are in the world.

Films

With wrestling being one of the most entertaining sports out there, it’s no surprise that wrestlers are making it onto the big screen. Some of today’s most popular film stars started life on the wrestling ring, and certainly take their swagger with them once the cameras start rolling.

Say the name The Rock and instantly everybody knows who you are talking about. From Jumanji to Pain and Gain, he’s been in pretty much every action and adventure film that has come out in the modern age. Another well-known face is Batista, who is most famously known for appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy and plays the role of Drax better than anybody else ever could.

Films are abundant out there in which famous wrestlers are finding their new niche. Discovering your favourite wrestler in a film isn’t hard, and this article from Den of Geek shows just how many wrestlers have gone from fighter to film star.

Wrestling has even become so popular in cinema that it’s also easy to find flicks about the sport too. Movies such as Win Win and Nacho Libre, may star ‘regular’ actors. However, they are still worth checking out and still have that great wrestling feel to them.

With wrestling taking over Vegas, slots and the big screen, there are plenty of ways the sport is keeping us entertained outside of the ring.
