WWE'S FIGHT LIKE A GIRL DEBUTS ON THE ROKU CHANNEL

By Mike Johnson on 2021-05-20 10:05:00

This morning, WWE's Fight Like A Girl, originally produced for Quibi, debuted on The Roku Channel as a result of Roku acquiring all the Quibi original programming after that upstart platform withered and died within six months of its rollout.

The series ran ten episode with WWE's female stars paired with a woman who was dealing with personal issues they felt were holding them back.  Over the course of the episode, the featured woman and the WWE star meet and bond while discussing issues they have each dealth with in life.  We then followed the subject as she worked out at the WWE Performance Center to help transform herself for the better before seeing an official unveiling ceremony inside the ring.

The series was designed to be a motivational show to inspire those fighting through their own personal issues with Stephanie McMahon, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Nikki and Brie Bella, Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss, Sonya Deville, Natalya, Paige and Nia Jax all taking part.

Roku officially announced last month that all of the Quibi content it acquired last year will be branded as Roku Originals.  Quibii, which fizzled upon its debut last year, featured 5-10 minute long short form programming exclusive for its subscribers, shut down just six months after being launched by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman.

There is no word whether the series could be picked up for another season, in some form, for the Roku Channel or elsewhere.
