GORY GUERRERO INDUCTED INTO EL PASO ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

Guerrero family patriarch Gory Guerrero, who had a storied career as wrestler, booker and trainer, has been posthumously named to the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame.

The honor that was covered locally by ABC El Paso affiliate KVIA Channel 7 today with his daughter Linda Rodriguez hoping that this will one day open the door for other members of the family to be honored.  Guerrero was submitted for potential inclusion five times before being named to the Hall of Fame.

Guerrero, the father of Eddy, Chavo Sr., Mando and Hector Guerrero, was the creator of what is now known as the Camel Clutch among other moves and was a huge star for CMLL in Mexico as well as Texas and California.  He passed away in 1990.
