ANDRADE VS. KENNY OMEGA TO HEADLINE AAA TRIPLEMANIA

All Elite Wrestling superstar Kenny Omega will attempt his fifth defense of the AAA Mega Championship against former WWE star Andrade at Triplemanía XXIX, Lucha Libre AAA World Wide announced at a press conference today.

The show is scheduled to take place on August 14 in Arena Ciudad de México with live fans in attendance.

Andrade debuted in AAA via a vignette which aired at the end of Rey de Reyes on May 1. He stated his two goals in AAA are to wrestle Psycho Clown and defeat Omega for the AAA Mega Championship.

Omega has held the AAA Mega Championship since October 2019, making successful defenses on both AEW and AAA shows against Jack Evans, Dragon Lee, Sammy Guevara and Laredo Kid.

Don Callis and Omega sent a video responding to the match.

Additionally, Impact Knockouts Championship holder Deonna Purrazzo will face AAA Reina de Reinas Championship holder Faby Apache in a title-versus-title match at Triplemanía XXIX.

Apache won the vacant AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at Rey de Reyes. Purrazzo made a surprise appearance at the show as a guest commentator and challenged Apache after the match.

Psycho Clown will face Rey Escorpión in a hair-versus-mask match. A brawl erupted between the two luchadores at the press conference and they had to be separated by security.
