BREAKING DOWN THE WRESTLEMANIA BACKLASH ODDS

By Mike Johnson on 2021-05-13 07:01:00

With Wrestlemania Backlash quickly approaching for fans worldwide on the WWE Network and Peacock, the speculation as to what performers will emerge victorious with championship gold has been hot and heavy.

Whether it be Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman in a chase to dethrone WWE Champion Bobby Lashley or Cesaro’s rise to prominence in defiance of Universal Champion Roman Reigns, certainly WWE programming has been consistently compelling with fans far and wife debating and breaking down what’s next when WWE’s stars clash inside the squared circle.

So, how does one best break down who’s arm will be raised at the end of these titanic battles?  Sports Betting Dime has provided some deep-cutting insight into exactly who the landscape of World Wrestling Entertainment could be irrevocably changed forever as the smoke lifts from the Wrestlemania Backlash battlefield.

So, what to expect from Wrestlemania Backlash?

WWE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Cesaro seems to be finally having his moment in the sun, with major victories over Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania and standing up to the might of WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.  Roman has held that championship with a maniacal grip, running even the venerated Daniel Bryan off Friday Night Smackdown but how does he match up to the momentum of the Swiss Superman?  Cesaro may be Superman, but it could indeed be Roman who will encounter his own personal kryptonite, breaking down the odds giving Cesaro a +350 and Roman a -600.  It’s looking to be a good night for Cesaro.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP

While Bobby Lashley has been nothing short of a macabre monster since Wrestlemania, not even he has been able to figure out the riddle of the sphinx when it comes to dealing with Braun Strowman, the Monster Among Men.  Factor in former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre’s intensity when it comes to stepping in the ring and we have one of the most explosive Triple Threat matches in recent WWE history.  So, how do the odds break down when we try to sift through the rubble of previous skirmishes to call the winner early?    Braun is listed at +500, stemming from his explosive beating of Lashley this past Monday.  Lashley is currently given -200 while McIntyre sits at +175.

WWE RAW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

After missing out on Wrestlemania action, Charlotte Flair has been the ultimate antagonist, attacking former partner Asuka and current Raw Women’s Kingpin Rhea Ripley with ruthless ambition.  While Ripley has claimed she would be bringing the nightmares to Monday Night Raw, Flair has consistently stolen the spotlight from the Australian star - but can she steal the championship as well?  SBD leans towards no, billing the defending champion Ripley at -200.  Flair is only billed at +175, with Asuka being given a shocking +500, meaning the oddsmakers would be most shocked to see Asuka walk out with the title, but expect the gold to remain with Rhea Ripley.  So, the Riptide looks to make the difference this Sunday.

While the main events look to be sealed up, it’s interesting to note that those overseeing the odds do appear to believe history will be made this Sunday at Wrestlemania Backlash.  The first-ever father and son tag team in WWE history, Rey and Dominik Mysterio have the scales tilted in their favor against Smackdown Tag Team Champions Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler, potentially spoiling that we may be in line for a celebratory victory this Sunday.

With Damian Priest vs. The Miz, Bianca Belair vs. Bayley and more set for this Sunday, Backlash aims to bring pure adrenaline and action to fans worldwide.
