NWA SUPER POWERRR ON FITE.TV REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2021-05-12 17:35:00

We see clips of Nick Aldis proclaiming that no one has been able to step up to give him a challenge.  Joe Galli tells him there'll be a 14 man battle royal in 2 weeks time to determine his challenger at the upcoming PPV event, When Our Shadows Fall, on June 6th.  INTO THE FIRE by the immortal Dokken plays us in as Kyle Davis, Tim Storm and Velvet Sky are calling tonight's action.  Kyle throws it to Joe Galli (that's a switch), who's with Nick Aldis, Thom Lattimer, Kamille and NWA National Champion Chris Adonis.  The World's Champion is not pleased with NWA President William Corgan.  He berates Galli and last week's co host May Valentine.  Per the champion, a battle royal is no way to determine a top challenger.  Mr. Aldis is not happy that Joe Galli broke the news.  Galli better adjust himself real quick, lest the champ send him back to San Antonio.  Tonight's main event will have Lattimer and Adonis challenging Kratos and Aron Stevens for the NWA World Tag Team Title. Kamille will give her answer to Thunder Rosa's challenge later.  Aldis proceeds to throw a wrench into the evening.  Per the ruling of Mr. Corgan, no champions will be involved in the upcoming battle royal.  As a result, Aldis calls off the tag team title match tonight so that Lattimer can theoretically protect him, as he is not a champion.

Matthew Mims vs. Matt Cross in a #1 contender's match for the NWA TV Title

Joe Galli returns to the play by play as Kyle David returns to the interview area.  Lockup, armtwist by Mims.  Mims with a headlock, he drops Cross with a shoulderblock.  Pump kick by Cross. He goes for a springboard elbow but Mims catches him and goes for a belly to back, which Cross evades.  Back elbow by Mims, he throws Cross into the corner and nails a series of elbows.  He throws Cross into the corner but misses a charge.  Cross with a springboard cross body for 1.  Boot to the face by Cross but Mims with a pump kick.  Cross evades a powerbomb but eats a spinebuster for 2.  Cross with a springboard cutter for the pin.

WINNER: Matt Cross

Austin Idol and Tyrus come to the booth to address Da Pope.  Idol wants him out NOW and Pope obliges.  Idol throws backhanded compliments.  Idol reminds him that he's 4 title defenses away from getting the Lucky 7, which gives Pope a World Title shot.  He offers his hand to Pope and Pope walks off.

We get a plug for the "This is the NWA" Post Show Podcast on You Tube.

May Valentine is with Aron Stevens and is wondering how he feels about the cancelled title shot.  Stevens is focused on being a champion.  As far as Kratos goes, it's no secret they're not best friends but he's hoping they can get on/stay on the same page.

Kyle Davis interviews Sal Rinauro, who's ready for his 1 on 1 with Kratos.  He appreciates the help he's gotten but he needs to confront Kratos alone.

Sal Rinauro vs Kratos

Ineffective dropkick by Sal.  Kratos with a backdrop and a kick to the face.  He punches Sal in the corner and whips him to the opposite buckle.  Kratos eats a boot on the ensuing charge but nails a clothesline.  Sal escapes a charge in the corner but receives a vicious knee to the face, Kratos pulls Sal up at 2.  Kratos with a German Suplex for the pin.

WINNER: Kratos

They're still giving graphics about the since- cancelled NWA Tag Team Title match so we'll see what's up.

Thunder Rosa and Kamille are out with their respective representatives, Melina and Terryn Tyrell.  Rosa gives Kamille a lecture on the history of NWA Women's Wrestling and the reverence Rosa has for it.  Kamille wants to know who Rosa is to lecture her.  She accuses Rosa of using the NWA for her selfish purposes.  These two had a GREAT match at Back for the Attack.  Rosa tells her that Kamille has been handed opportunities.  Kamille will give Thunder Rosa a shot at the #1 contendership with the following stipulations:

  • 20 minute time limit
  • Rosa, if she loses, will not be able to work for any other company but the NWA

Seems fair, Rosa accepts.

Jax Dane vs. Slice Boogie (Falls Count Anywhere)

They fire away at the outset, Dane gets the better of it and nails a double forearm and a belly to belly.  Boogie rolls out and Dane follows him. Dane runs into the post as Slice moves out of the way.  Slice gets a 1 count.  Slice with forearms, he slams Jax into the podium and only gets a 1 count.  Elbow by Slice.  Slice with a series of chops, Dane fires back and hits a suplex on the floor for 1.  Boogie with a slam into the apron for 2.  Boogie stomps away and grabs a chair. He sits Dane in the chair and charges.  Dane emerges with a double forearm for a 2 count.  Dane slams him into the apron.  Boogie kicks the steps into Danes knees.  Boogie charges but gets hit with a powerslam for 2.  Boogie with a knee, he reenters the ring and nails a tope cross body to the outside for 2.   There are no mats on the floor.  Slice with a chair shot to the gut and back.  Here comes Crimson, towel in hand.  They reenter the ring, Crimson with the distraction but it backfires as Dane runs into him.  Dane checks on Crimson.  Dane throws in the towel on himself and seems very concerned for Crimson.

WINNER: Slice Boogie

Dane calls for medical help for Crimson...again

Joe Galli tells us that Strictly Business has left the building, confirming the cancellation of the tag team title match.  Stevens and Kratos are ready to go but the match is officially cancelled.
