We begin with a look back at last week's episode of NXT and the build for tonight's two title matches.
We are at the Capitol Wrestling Centre and your announcers are Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph, and Beth Phoenix.
Match Number One: Austin Theory (with Johnny Gargano) versus Karrion Kross (with Scarlett) in a Non Title Match
Kross misses a punch and Theory with a punch and knee. Kross sends Theory to the mat. Theory goes for a drop kick but Kross pushes him aside. Kross with a boot in the corner. Kross sends Theory across the ring and Theory avoids a shoulder. Kross with a clothesline. Kross with a top wrist lock and forearm to Theory. Kross with another forearm to the chest followed by a kick to the chest. Kross chokes Theory in the ropes. Kross stands on Theory's hand. Kross runs into a knee in the corner but Kross with a wrist clutch suplex. Kross goes for a Saito suplex but Gargano gets on the apron and Theory with a rake of the eyes. Kross misses a punch and kick and then he sends Kross into the plexiglass. Theory with a DDT on the floor.
Theory gets back into the ring and Theory goes to the floor to break the count when it wasn't certain if Kross could get back into the ring. Theory avoids being sent into the ring post and Theory sends Kross into the ring post. Theory with forearms to Kross. Kross pushes Theory to the mat. Theory drops Kross on the top rope and then Theory with a rolling drop kick for a near fall. Theory with a fallaway slam. Kross gets up and hits a Doomsday Saito and then he hits another one. Kross wiht a forearm to the back of the head and then he connects with forearms to the back and Kross stares at Gargano and then he chokes out Theory and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Karrion Kross
During the match, we were told that Johnny Gargano defends the North American Championship next week against Bronson Reed.
After the match, Kross looks over his shoulder and Finn Balor is standing there.
Balor says he doesn't wait in lines and he wants his rematch.
Kross tells Balor he wants it as bad as Finn does. He says let's do it.
Balor accepts.
We go to commercial.
We are back and we see KUSHIDA arriving earlier today at the building.
We see Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai arriving at the building.
We see Leon Ruff interrupt an interview with William Regal and he wants to fight. William Regal says he will not let Leon fight tonight. Leon says that he is cleared to wrestle. Regal says he will not let him compete tonight. Leon wants to know what does he have to do.
Match Number Two: Tyler Breeze and Fandango versus Nash Carter and Wes Lee in a Non Title Match
Lee and Breeze start things off and they lock up. They go to a stalemate and Breeze relaxes on the turnbuckles. They lock up and Breeze with a snap mare but Lee with a shoulder tackle. Lee flips over Breeze. Breeze blocks a suplex and so does Lee. Both men go for super kicks but they kick each other's foot. Fandango and Carter tag in. They lock up and Fandango with a wrist lock. Carter with a wrist lock take down and an Irish whip. Fandango floats over and he hits an arm drag. Carter with a drop kick. Breeze tags in and Breeze and Fandango bump heads and then the referee with a leap frog as Carter hits a drop kick.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Fandango with an Irish whip but Lee gets out of the way. Fandango with a Japanese arm drag into the turnbuckles. Fandango with a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Breeze tags in and Lee with a shoudler to Fandango on the apron and punches to Breeze. Carter tags in and they kick Breeze from many angles including an enzuigiri and a double stomp. Lee tosses Carter onto Breeze but Fandango breaks up the cover. All four men are in the ring and they exchange punches. Lee with an enzuigiri to Fandango but Breeze with super kicks to Lee and Carter. Fandango goes up top and Carter with a palm strike. Carter sets for a superplex.
Carter with a moonsault off the turnbuckles onto Breeze and Fandango on the floor. Lee tags in and Lee sends Carter into the corner with a drop kick that sends Fandango to the floor. Breeze tags in and goes for an Unprettier but Carter with a super kick and Lee with a Hart Attack Blockbuster for the three count.
Winners: Nash Carter and Wes Lee
After the match, Fandango and Breeze shake hands with Carter and Lee.
Carter and Lee call out Legado del Fantasma.
Johnny Gargano is in the back and it is time to go into William Regal's office.
William is happy for Johnny to be here.
Johnny is not happy that he has to defend the title next week. Johnny says that Regal hates him but Regal says he values Gargano and they even made a new headband for him. Regal tells Gargano he will still be defending the title. Regal tells Gargano not to touch him and Gargano breaks Regal's pencil.
Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan walk in the back as we go to commercial.
We are back and we see Mercedes Martinez in the back preparing for her match against Raquel Gonzalez later tonight.
We are told that NXT will have their next Takeover special on June 13th and it will be In Your House.
Ever Rise are behind the announce table with their Ever Rise Live sign and coffee mugs.
Pete Dunne is in the ring.
Pete says that Karrion Kross has chosen Finn Balor and he does not blame him. He tells Karrion to keep ducking him because sooner or later, that title is his. Dunne says he is the baddest man in NXT. He tells anyone else to come out and prove him wrong. He tells someone to step up.
Leon Ruff attacks Dunne from behind and Ruff with a drop kick.
We have a referee and it looks like it is time for an . . .
IMPROMPTU MATCH
Match Number Three: Leon Ruff versus Pete Dunne (with Oney Lorcan)
Dunne with a take down and punches. Ruff kicks Dunne in the face. Ruff is sent to the apron and then he uses the ropes to avoid Dunne. Dunne with a rollup and body scissors. Dunne pulls at the fingers and then punches Ruff in the back of the head. Dunne with a clothesline. Dunne kicks Ruff in the back. Dunne returns to the hand and he stomps on the chest. Dunne slaps Ruff int he face. Dunne with another slap. Ruff with a slap and chops. Ruff moves in the corner and he kicks Dunne. Ruff with a missile drop kick. Dunne with an enzuigiri. Ruff with a rebound clothesline and he comes off the turnbuckles and is met with a forearm from Dunne. Dunne with a triangle and forearms to the head and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Pete Dunne
After the match, Dunne pulls at the fingers.
Raul Mendoza says the NXT Universe will see who the true champion is. Joaquin Wilde says that KUSHIDA might have the belt now but Escobar will win tonight. Escobar says that KUSHIDA is still champion because he likes him but by the end of the night he will be the two time Cruiserweight Champion.
We see Raquel Gonzalez in the back preparing for her match while Dakota Kai is giving her some motivation.
We go to commercial.
