To say that WWE wrestling is popular would be a massive understatement. Viewing figures attest to how many fans regularly gravitate to this spectacle that is part-sport, part-showmanship, and 100% entertainment. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Nikki Cross is the stage name of a feisty wrestler who fights under the Raw brand. She has formed a potent tag team with Ohio-born Alexa Bliss, a duo that became the first WWE two-time Women’s Tag Team Champions. Killian Dain is a powerfully built and 6’ 4" tall wrestler from Belfast, in Northern Ireland. He has been vocal in his condemnation of the sectarianism prevalent in much of his home nation’s society, claiming wrestling is force enjoyed by people of every cultural background. But his closest match is with Nikki – the plucky fighters tied the knot in 2019.
Sasha Banks and Sarath Ton
Sasha, a cousin of the iconic rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg, has held the Raw Women’s Championship five times, and her many other accolades include being the first female wrestler to win the PWI Award for ‘Feud of the Year,’ with Charlotte Flair. Sarath Ton is a retired Cambodian-American wrestler who formerly fought for WWE under the ring name Mikaze, who now makes her name as a WWE costume designer. While Sasha and Sarath became close when they were both on the independent wrestling circuit, and married in 2016.
Mickie James and Nick Aldis
Virginia-born Mickie James is was a prominent WWE and Impact wrestling performer, having trained in several camps to attain her fearsome skills. Away from the ring, she is also a highly-accomplished country music singer, having released two well-received albums and, to date, nine singles. Nick Aldis, from Norfolk in England, is only the second British wrestler to achieve the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and has headlined numerous popular pay-per-view events for the NWA camp. Mickie and Nick tied the knot in 2015, and have a son together, Donovan, born in 2014.
Aiden English and Shaul Guerrero
Aiden, hailing from Chicago, formed part of the flamboyant tag team the Vaudevillians with the mustachioed Simon Gotch, with whom he won the NXT Tag Team Championship. He moved on to be tagged with Bulgarian-American Rusev. Shaul commenced as a ring announcer, dancer, singer, and model, wrestling for WWE, while also burlesque dancing under the name Miss Nyxon. The couple were engaged in 2014 and got married in 2016.
Brock Lesnar and Sable
Heavyset Brock is a wrestler, who is also a mixed-martial arts fighter, and played football in the National Football League for Minnesota Vikings for a while in 20o4 after taking a side step from wrestling, although injury in a motorcycle accident put paid to his alternative career. Florida-born Sable is a former wrestler, actor, and model, who became the world’s second WWF Women’s Champion. Away from wrestling, she is regarded as a sex symbol and has featured prominently in Playboy (her 1999 cover was one of the magazine’s highest-ever sellers). Brock and Sable married in 2006, and now have two sons, Turk and Duke. There is every possibility they will fall into their father’s talented footsteps at some point!
