SHERA VS. JAKE SOMETHING & MORE: BTI - BEFORE THE IMPACT REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2021-05-06 20:01:00

This week's edition of BTI - Before the Impact on AXS TV opened with Jon Burton, Josh Mathews and Gia Miller discussing the Under Siege PPV taking place in nine days.  They discussed the main event to determine the top contender for Impact Wrestling Champion Kenny Omega.

They went to highlights of last week's qualifying matches with Matt Cardona vs. Brian Myers and Jake Something vs. Chris Bey match on Impact.

After a commercial, they went to highlights of Sami Callihan vs. Eddie Edwards last week.  After showing the footage of Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers attacking them both, Jon Burton stated that Sami Callihan advanced to the Under Siege PPV main event.

They then reviewed W. Morrisey's TV debut last week.  They noted Willie Mack has challenged him at the PPV.

They broke down Taylor Wilde's first Impact Wrestling TV bout in years, defeating Kimber Lee last week.  The trio put over that there was a lot going on in the Knockouts division.

The aired classic footage of Havok vs. Rosemary from last year's Rebellion PPV, spotlighting Impact+.

They ran down the top five social media posts of the week, topped by El Phantamso's debut announcement on Twitter.

They then ran a Clapback moment of the week, where Jordynne Grace torched Deonna Purrazzo.

They went to the George the Iceman scoop segment where he claimed an eliminated talent went to Impact HQ demanding another chance to get in the Six-Way at the PPV and has threatened to take someone else out to get in.

Shera with Rohit Raju vs. Jake Something

They went right at each other with Shera being knocked to the floor.  He tried to regain his composure as they went to commercial.

Back from commercial, Something scored a two count and continued working over Shera.  Something missed a charge in the corner and landed in the buckles.  Shera took control, sending him into the corner again.  He continued to clobber and beat down Jake's back, then stomped him low.  The referee adominished Shera, allowing Raju a chance to choke Something against the ropes.  Shera covered Jake for another two count.

Shera sent him into the corner and drilled him with a series of clotheslines and shoulderblocks to the mid-section.  He covered Something, who continued to kick out.  Something locked on a bear hug, trying to force the submission but Jake fought his way out.  He rebounded off the ropes but Shera drilled him low with a headbutt.  Shera cinched in a rear waistlock, trying to ride him to the mat.  Something tried to nail a back elbow but was elevated and slammed down for a two count.

Shera locked on a bearhug from behind but Something fought his way out of a sitting position.  They reared away and drilled back and forth with punches.  Shera got the better of it and again went back after the back.  Something broke free and slammed Shera several times.

Something went to rebound and charge off the ropes but was nailed with a stiff clothesline.  Shera went back to the bearhug, then cinched in an abdominal stretch.  Something was able to hiptoss him out.  Something mounted a comeback with several throat thrusts and punches but was kicked down.  Shera went for a move but Something avoided it and nailed several strikes and punches.  He speared Shera in the corner and sent Shera into the ropes but was kicked.   Something went down to the mat.  Shera nailed a chokeslam across the knee but Something kicked out at the last second.

Something came back with a double axehandle to the back.  He went for a powerbomb but was backdropped over.  Shera charged but was snatched into a Michinoku Driver.  Rohit Raju jumped on the apron to distract the referee.  Something grabbed him and Shera charged but ended up knocking Raju off the apron when Something sidestepped him.  Shera was drilled with a Black Hole Slam and pinned.

Your winner, Jake Something!

This was OK.  They worked hard to tell the story of Shera working over the back before the babyface comeback.

Our fearless trio ran down the lineup for Impact.

Stay tuned for Impact on AXS coverage!
