ATSUSHI ONITA LAUNCHING NEW EXPLOSION DEATH MATCH PROMOTION

By Oliver Taylor on 2021-05-06 01:02:00

Death Match wrestling legend Atsushi Onita has launched his own wrestling company called Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling Explosion.

The ‘E’ in the company’s name stands for explosion and its main focus will be on exploding deathmatches.

FMWE’s debut show will take place on July 4 at the Tsurumi Fruit & Vegetable Market in Yokohama.

Onita, 63, said Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega’s exploding barbed wire deathmatch at All Elite Wrestling’s Revolution pay-per-view was the catalyst for the company’s birth.

Hidetaka Kajiki, who will hold a director position alongside Onita, promised the company will have worldwide distribution. It remains to be seen what broadcasting deals FMWE is able to secure.

DDT Pro-Wrestling’s Chris Brookes, who has wrestled Onita on numerous occasions, immediately posted a positive reaction on Twitter.

Onita will upload a virtual press conference announcing the formation of the company onto his YouTube channel at 7pm JST today. His channel can be viewed here.

The company already launched its own website, which can be viewed here.
