The major news coming out of tonight's season finale of MLW Fusion:
*Myron Reed defeated Lio Rush to win the MLW Middleweight Championship for the second time.
*Dario Cueto (or perhaps his father Antonio Cueto, as the character was never identified by name) from Lucha Underground was revealed as El Jefe, noting he was building a "new temple" and that Salina de la Renta knows that required "sacrifices." So, the storyline is that de la Renta sold her company to El Jefe's Azteca Underground and that after failing them, had been kidnapped. She was seen tonight with a bag over her head with the idea being that she had failed them for the last time and was heading towards a bad fate. During the segment, Cueto took a phone call, telling the person on the other end that he would be in Philadelphia on 7/10. Cueto was portrayed yet again by actor Luis Fernandez-Gil, who appeared across all four seasons of The El Rey Network's Lucha Underground. MLW had been building to this reveal since January.
*The promotion will be holding a draft starting next week on MLW.com and YouTube as a storyline introduction for new talents as part of their plans to restructure the roster. As PWInsider.com reported, the plan is to bring in some unknowns as well as some name talents with known track records. Oliver Taylor will have more on that shortly.
*CONTRA has blocked MLW National Openweight Champion Alexander Hammerstone from getting an MLW Championship match against Jacob Fatu, but it was noted that should Hammerston win the Battle Riot, CONTRA could no longer block his title challenge. So, that's the storyline as they build towards Fatu vs. Hammerstone down the line as a potential PPV-level main event.
*MLW will return to Chicago on 11/6.
