NJPW STRONG REPORT: LA DOJO EDITION FEATURING CONNORS VERSUS FREDERICKS AND MORE

We begin with a look at some of the Young Lions and Shibata says this showcase will show the best of the LA Dojo. Clark Connors says everything you do in the dojo is earned. Alex Coughlin says some crumble and some make it to the next step. That is why we are here. Kevin Knight says in the LA Dojo we put in work. DKC says he wants to be a world champion and he is laying that foundation for him to get there. Shibata says pain is temporary, pride is forever.

We are in Los Angeles, California and your announcers are Shigeki Kiyono, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Katsuyori Shibata (in Japanese) or Kevin Kelly and Alex Koslov (in English).

Match Number One: DKC versus TJP

They lock up and TJP with a waist lock. DKC with a wrist lock and TJP with a reversal and a head scissors take down. DKC with a head scissors. TJP with a head stand and he escapes and then applies a bow and arrow but DKC with a lateral press for a near fall. They lock up and DKC with a take down and a side head lock. TJP with a hammer lock and DKC with a head lock but TJP with a bridge and he holds on to the hammer lock.

DKC with a head lock and TJP with another bridge to escape. TJP hyper-extends the arm and leg and then he kicks DKC. TJP with a clothesline and he gets a near fall. DKC with punches but TJP with a forearm and a slam. TJP with a figure four on the legs and a front face lock into a double wrist lock. DKC escapes and he applies a chin lock and gets a near fall. DKC with forearms and chops. DKC with an Irish whip and he runs into a round kick.

TJP kicks DKC in the corner and he gives him a face wash and a running boot to the head. TJP with a near fall. TJP with a slam and he goes to the apron for a slingshot senton but misses. TJP with a kick and DKC with a forearm and chops. DKC trips TJP and hits a bulldog. DKC with a flying chop for a near fall. DKC with a triangle but TJP with a heel hook and DKC gets to the ropes. TJP kicks the leg. DKC with an enzuigiri. TJP with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. TJP gets DKC up but DKC counters the detonation kick into a crucifix. TJP with a Regal Stretch and DKC taps out.

Winner: TJP

After the match, TJP helps DKC up but DKC pushes TJP away.

DKC says that TJ is an LA Dojo OG and it is an honor to get in there and mix it up with him. I am trying to get to that level. I am in the weight room and dojo hitting it hard. DKC is coming up.

Match Number Two: Kevin Knight and Alex Coughlin versus Ren Narita and Fred Rosser

Rosser and Knight start things off and they lock up. Rosser with a waist lock and side head lock take down. Knight with a head scissors and Rosser escapes. They lock up and Knight with a wrist lock and Rosser with an arm bar. Rosser with an arm bar, but Knight with a take down. They lock up and Knight with a European uppercut or two. Rosser with a knee and he sends Knight to the floor. Knight with a European uppercut but he misses a drop kick. Rosser with a seated splash. Rosser runs night into the corner and he chops Knight. Knight with European uppercuts. Rosser blocks a hip toss and Rosser with a hip toss and shoulder tackle and seated splash.

Rosser with a back breaker and he walks over Knight to tag in Narita. Rosser gives Narita a gourdbuster onto Knight for a near fall. Alex tags in and they lock up. Alex with a waist lock and Narita with a wrist lock. Narita with a hammer lock. Narita with a rear chin lock. Narita with a shoulder tackle but Alex stays on his feet. Alex with a shoulder tackle for a near fall. Alex gets another near fall. Knight tags in.

They hit a double biel on Narita for a near fall. Rosser and Alex fight until the referee gets things under control. Knight with a biel to Narita and a boot to the chest. Knight gets a near fall. Knight with forearms and a European uppercut. Narita with a forearm and kicks. He knocks Alex off the apron. Rosser tags in and he kicks Knight while Narita punches him. Rosser with knees in the corner.

Rosser with a short arm clothesline and a knee drop for a near fall. Narita tags in and he gets a near fall. Narita with an Irish whip and elbow in the corner. Narita with a knee to the midsection followed by kicks. Knight with a drop kick.

Rosser and Alex tag in and Rosser with forearms. Alex with a European uppercut. Rosser with head butts and punches followed by a hip strike. Alex with a flying shoulder tackle. Rosser with elbows and clotheslines followed by a boot. Alex with a knee and a gutwrench suplex for a near fall. Knight tags in and he gives Rosser a snap mare followed by a sliding shoulder tackle for a near fall. Knight gets another near fall and then he tries to put Rosser into a Boston Crab. Knight locks in the Boston Crab and Narita kicks Knight. Alex catches Narita and hits a fallaway slam. Knight with forearms but Rosser with a clothesline for a near fall. Narita sends Alex to the floor. Rosser with a head butt and Knight chops Rosser. Rosser and Knight exchange chops and Knight with a series of European uppercuts. Rosser runs Knight into the turnbuckles. Rosser puts Knight on the turnbuckles but Knight kicks Rosser away. Rosser goes to the turnbuckles and Knight pushes him off and hits a cross body. Rosser with a double knee gutbuster and a sliding boot to the head for the three count.

Winners: Fred Rosser and Ren Narita

After the match, Knight says to keep training. That is what they say. Every single time I step in that ring, I am taking the L. Knight walks away.

Coughlin tells Knight a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. They also say a master fails a million more times than a novice tries. This is the LA Dojo. We live and train with Ren Narita every day. Fred Rosser is super strong and a hell of a wrestler. Do you want to win? Do you want to represent LA Dojo? Do you want to make Shibata-san proud? Match Number Three: Karl Fredericks versus Clark Connors

They lock up and Clark with a waist lock and Karl with a standing switch. Clark with an arm drag but Karl with a head scissors and Clark escapes. They lock up and Clark backs Karl into the ropes. Karl with a wrist lock and take down. Karl goes for a cross arm breaker but Clark escapes. They lock up and Karl with a side head lock. Clark with a forearm and Karl with a shoulder tackle but Clark stays on his feet. Clark tries for a shoulder tackle and Karl stays on his feet. Clark with kicks and he gets a near fall.

Clark with a suplex and he gets a near fall. Clark with another suplex for another near fall. Clark with a forearm and he sets for a suplex but Karl blocks it and Karl with chops. Clark with a knee and Karl with a twisting cross body and a shoulder tackle. Clark goes to the floor and then he leaps onto the apron and connects with a forearm. Karl kicks Clark off the apron to the floor. Karl with a suicide dive.

Clark avoids being sent into the ring post and Clark sends Karl into the ring post. Clark with a suplex on the floor. Clark sends Karl back into the ring and Clark gets a near fall. Clark with a rear chin lock. Clark gets a near fall and then he returns to the rear chin lock. Karl with an elbow and Clark with a forearm and he goes to the turnbuckles for a double sledge to the back. Clark with a rear chin lock.

Clark with an elbow to the top of the head. Clark with a top wrist lock. Clark with a snap mare and chop to the back of the head. Karl with a snap mare and a chop to the back. Clark with a snap mare and chop to the back. Karl with a snap mare and kick to the back and he gets a near fall.

Karl with a punch and Karl with a back elbow and he gets a near fall. Karl gets more near falls. Karl with a back breaker for a near fall. Karl with a forearm and Clark with punches. Karl with a forearm and Clark with a POUNCE. Clark with chops in the corner. Clark with an Irish whip and shoulder in the corner followed by a back body drop. Clark gets a near fall. Clark waits for Karl to get up and he runs into a back elbow. Clark with an elbow and Karl with a splash into the corner. Clark lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex. Karl with a belly-to-back suplex and an elbow drop for a near fall. Karl sets for a guillotine but Clark escapes. Karl witih a spinebuster and an STF. Clark gets to the ropes and Karl releases the hold. Clark sets for the Boston Crab and he locks it in. Karl tries to get to the ropes and Carlk pulls Karl into the center of the ring. Karl gets to the ropes to force a break. Clark goes to the turnbuckles. Karl with a kick and enzuigiri. Karl with a punch and he goes up top and tries for a superplex and hits it.

Karl with forearms and Clark with chops. Karl joins in with some chops. They go back and forth. Karl with a forearm and European uppercut. Clark with punches but Karl with knees. Clark with chops and a European uppercut. Karl with a European uppercut but Clark with a punch. Karl with a boot to the head. Karl tells Clark to hit him again and Clark with a power slam and a German suplex followed by a spear. Clark goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Karl blocks it and Karl with a front face lock. Clark with a slap. Karl with a European uppercut followed by a back breaker and a DDT for the three count.

Winner: Karl Fredericks

After the match, Fredericks offers his hand but Connors pushes him away and leaves the ring.

We go to the back and Clark Connors says when this match was announced, I looked at the tapes and saw how I grew as a wrestler and a person. I have grown and changed. I have become better. Whoever needs to hear it. I am not asking any more. It is time for a change for real. When I was watching that tape. Kevin Kelly has been saying something that has stuck. I don’t feel like a Young Lion any more. Kevin says I am a wild rhino. From now on “The Young Lion” Clark Connors is dead. I am a mother f***ing Wild Rhino.
