KOTA IBUSHI RETURNS & MORE: 4/29 NJPW WRESTLING SATSUMA NO KUNI RESULTS FROM KAGOSHIMA, JAPAN

4/29/21 Results for New Japan's Wrestling Satsuma no Kuni, Return of the Golden Star From Kagoshima, Japan:

Yuya Uemura and Yota Tsuji vs. BUSHI and SANADA.  BUSHI pins Uemura with variation of the Bushi Roll

Tiger Mask, SHO and YOH vs. Minoru Suzuki, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado.  Suzuki-Gun took an early advantage by working over the arm of SHO.   YOH tagged in and faced off with Desperado in a preview of their Title match.    Tiger Mask tagged in hit a Tiger Driver on Desperado and locked him in an arm submission.    Desperado gets to the ropes.    Desperado attacked the leg of Tiger Mask.  Kanemaru came in with a dropkick to the knee of Tiger Mask.    Desperado locks him in Numero Dos.   Desperado traps his arms and Tiger Mask submits.  Suzuki-Gun are the winners.

DOUKI, Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi vs. Jado, Tanga Loa and Tama Tonga.  Taichi’s music plays and Tama Tonga comes out with a ladder.   Taichi comes out with a ladder and they start dueling with ladders.    Taichi starts choking out Tama.  Tanga Loa is fighting with ZSJ.    The referee takes a bump in the chaos.   Jado and DOUKI were battling with their kendo stick and metal pipe.  Tama and Taichi bring their ladders in the ring and start fighting.  They start throwing ladders at each other.    The referee calls the match a “no contest”.   Tama and Taichi are out of control.   One ladder went flying over the top rope.  The young lions had to hold all the men back.    Gedo came out to calm things down.   Kanemaru came down to keep Taichi at ease.  Wild scene.   This reminded me of the original ECW or Attitude Era of WWE.  Chaos that kept you glued to the screen because you never knew what was going to happen.  Really good heat to build towards their ladder match next week.

Master Wato, Ryusuke Taguchi, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Toru Yano vs. Dick Togo, Taiji Ishimori, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL.  Bullet Club pulled out their tricks to take the advantage.   The cornered Wato and worked him over.   Taguchi tagged in and had some comedy spots with EVIL.   Yano tagged in and match got out of hand.   With action happening all over the ring Yano hit EVIL and Togo with low blows.  Yano rolled up Togo for the pinfall win.  

Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi vs. Great O-Khan and Will Ospreay. Really good match.   This was a fight between two great teams.    Takagi pins O-Khan with Last of the Dragon.   Ospreay got into the face of Takagi.   Takagi shoved Ospreay.  Ospreay elbowed Takagi in the face and picked him up for a Storm Breaker.  Takagi reversed out and picked up Ospreay and hit Last of the Dragon.   

Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kota Ibushi vs. Aaron Henare and Jeff Cobb.   This is the first event on New Japan World that Ibushi is appearing on since he lost the IWGP World Title to Will Ospreay.    Henare was Tanahashi’s tag partner in World Tag League last year.   This is their first match against each other since Henare joined United Empire.   Cobb and Ibushi started the match.  They attacked each other with vicious elbows.   Henare attacked Tanahashi and pounded him with punches on the ring floor.    Cobb and Henare have turned it up a notch on the violence against their opponents.  

Cobb and Henare focused on the leg of Tanahashi with leg submissions.   United Empire moved with impressive speed in this match.   Cobb and Ibushi traded strikes and kicks which was great.  Tanahashi and Ibushi got Cobb out of the ring.  Henare fought both of them.    Awesome.   Ibushi connected with a high knee to Henare’s face.   Tanahashi hit a Slingblade.   Ibushi hit Henare with Kamagoye.   Ibushi pins Henare.

Such an awesome match.   Tanahashi and Ibushi made Cobb and Henare look like stars.   Cobb and Henare came to fight and moved around the ring like predators.  Tanahashi and Ibushi sold for them really well.   Despite the pinfall loss, Henare and Cobb showed they could hang with the top guys in New Japan.

Ibushi got the mic and asked Cobb for a singles match.   Cobb said “F**k Yes!”, and left ringside.  I am already excited for this match.
