We are back in the undisclosed location in or around Cleveland, OH, for the next episode of AIW’s Go for Broke. We take a look back at the action of the previous episode and the current leaderboard before we get to this week’s action.
Back to the red couch, we hear from Wes Barkley. He says he doesn’t care what about people, but has noticed that people have overlooked him. He claims to be two steps ahead of everyone else in the locker room and believes he’s the smartest competitor. He lists a few of his former opponents and says no one can question his toughness. He plans to win the Biggins Cup and go after the Tag Titles so that he and Joshua Bishop can “run AIW.”
AIW President Matt Wadsworth and AIW Owner John Thorne are on commentary.
In the ring, we’re starting with Wes Barkley vs Marino Tenaglia, from the challenge set forth last week. Their respective tag partners are staying ringside. Wes Barkley keeps claiming his hair is getting pulled. Thorne reminds us that Tenaglia has primarily been a tag competitor and Barkley has more singles experience. Both men are able to kick out of big moves, so Barkley tries for the Steiner Recliner. Tenaglia is able to get the ropes. Josh Bishop attacks Philly Collins, and Barkley sits down on the sunset flip. Bishop grabs Barkley for more leverage, and Barkley gets the three count.
Behind the curtain, Barkley and Bishop are mouthing off to Tenaglia and Collins, when Pretty Boy Smooth steps in and calls Josh Bishop “Baby Sid Vicious.”
PB Smooth is taking on The Gringo Grappler. Gringo Grappler gets a few kicks in, but it’s all PB Smooth. He locks in the Rings of Saturn, which Wadsworth calls Total Bondage, and Gringo Grappler submits.
Brian Carson is next on the red couch, talking about how pro wrestling has been his dream. Carson calls Chandler Biggins “one of the good guys.” Carson says he’s been plagued by injuries, so he’s taken the commentary role, but he didn’t get into the business to do commentary.
Brian Carson versus The Duke is up next. This match was set on last week’s episode when The Duke challenged Carson to put up his bank in addition to the normal Biggins Bucks prize. The Duke tosses Carson to the floor where the Bitcoin Boiz do some damage. Thorne claims The Duke actually bet Mikey Montgomery’s bank as well to sweeten the deal. The Duke tosses Carson to the floor again, but Carson ducks Montgomery’s superkick. Carson connects with the Car-K-O and locks in the sharpshooter, but Eric Taylor distracts the ref and Montgomery hits Carson with the Golden Boot. Duke Driver, and The Duke wins Carson’s bank.
The Duke and the Bitcoin Boiz head back to the lounge. Duke says he needs to find Carson to collect his winnings.
Dominic Garrini takes on Arthur McArthur in a teacher vs student match. McArthur tries for the trust fall, but Garrini locks in a rear naked choke on the floor. Garrini tosses McArthur back in the ring and hits a muscle buster and gets the pin.
The Duke finds Brian Carson. Brian Carson refuses to pay up from the “b.s. bet.” Bitcoin Boiz come from behind, and Carson finally hands over his Biggins Bucks. Walking through the hallway, Duke and the Boiz are stopped by Philly Collins and Marino Tenaglia. PME challenges Bitcoin Boiz to a match, offering a guaranteed tag title shot if they win. Bitcoin Boiz accept.
The current iteration of The Production, Derek Dillinger and Ziggy Haim, are facing a former member of The Production, Frankie Flynn, and Razor Sharpe in tag team action. Dillinger throws Haim into Razor Sharpe, which knocks Frankie Flynn out of the ring. Moonsault from Dillinger onto Sharpe, and a quick pinfall win for The Production.
Back in the lounge, and Kaplan says it’s good to see everyone again, but he feels he’s been underutilized so far. Arthur McArthur is tired of Kaplan’s complaining and calls him out as Tre Lamar heads to the ring.
Our main event for this evening is Tre Lamar vs Philly Collins. Marino Tenaglia is not at ringside. John Thorne confirms that PME vs Bitcoin Boiz will happen next week. Handshake to start the match, as The Duke is watching from the balcony. Tre Lamar tries for some shoulder blocks, but they have no effect. Tre Lamar tries to ground the bigger Philly Collins, but switches to a more speed-based attack. Lamar goes for a tornado DDT, but Collins catches him with a powerbomb. Collins misses a moonsault. Lamar hits the froggy elbow. Collins kicks out, but Lamar locks in the high angle Boston crab. Collins has to tap out.
Presumably, on tap for next week:
PME vs Bitcoin Boiz
Arthur McArthur vs Kaplan
