LEGENDARY MUSIC PRODUCER JIM STEINMAN PASSES AWAY

By Mike Johnson on 2021-04-20 14:53:00

Legendary music composer, writer and producer Jim Steinman's passing was announced today.  Steinman passed away following a medical emergency early this morning at age of 73.

While best known for his work with Meatloaf and Celine Dion, among others, Steinman's career did bring him into the orbit of professional wrestling.

Steinman worked on the 1985 WWE record The Wrestling Album, composing and producing Hulk Hogan's Theme on the record.  While Hogan would more famously go on to use Rick Derringer's Real American (which was originally written for Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham to use as The U.S. Express), Steinman's Hogan theme would later be used as the theme song for the Hulk Hogan's Rock N' Wrestling CBS Saturday morning animated series later that year.  Steinman would later add lyrics to the song for Bonnie Tyler, with the song re-titled Ravishing.
