The rain delay night one caused a scramble to fill time, and they put out a bunch of obviously unscripted promos to fill the time. These promos were awesome and did more to build WrestleMania in 30 minutes than Raw/Smackdown ever did in 5 weeks (Also says something about the build). There was an energy and passion to those promos that I haven't seen in the WWE for years. Is there hope that someone saw how good those promos were, and maybe we'll see a move away from awful scripted promos?
I wish, I really do. But Vince LOVES the scripted verbiage so it's not going away any time soon, unfortunately.
Alicia Fox (& Mickie James) were spotted at mania and appeared on stage in gear. Now foxy is bailed as a legend nowadays and no other legends like Torrie, Mick Foley, and etc appeared on stage in gear. Could this mean she's returning?
I didn't notice that but I wouldn't read too much into it, especially since they released Mickie James shortly after Mania.
Do you and Jim Cornette talk about the booking of AEW? I listen to both of your podcasts and you guys seem to have the exact same opinion on Tony Khan's booking.
We do not. We have similar tastes in what we like in wrestling so that comes out when we voice our opinions.
Is it just me, or was it seriously ill-advised for WWE to constantly do close-ups of fans not wearing masks at Mania? I know that for some shots, that can't be avoided, but to intentionally spotlight some of these people in spite of the pandemic is textbook bad optics for the company.
I agree with you on that, for sure. I did hear from some readers who attacked me for pointing it out so I guess it all comes down to whether you believe science about the virus or whether you believe conspiracy theories.
Who in the hell backstage did Bayley piss off? It was bad enough that she was relegated to bad comedy skits with Hogan and Titus, but for her to get punked out by the Bellas, of all people, was absolutely moronic.
I said the same thing. It’s just wrong that Bayley didn’t have a match on Mania, especially given how she helped carry the Smackdown brand this year. I feel bad for her. Then, they played her as a dope on the broadcasts. So, so wrong.
