WWE just announced former WWE NXT, Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling Champion Samoa Joe has been released.
Joe had not competed for the company in some time, instead working on the Raw announcing team. When that team was shuffled earlier this week, he was noted as still being part of the company's talent roster.
Joe, one of the best big men of the modern era, signed with WWE NXT in 2015 after legendary runs as the Ring of Honor Champion and a feud with CM Punk that literally saved the company from destruction. He went on to becomes one of the cornerstone stars of Impact Wrestling, including feuds with Kurt Angle, Sting and more.
Joe last appeared for the company as an announcer at Wrestlemania over the weekend.
