Last week on Studio Wars, Dan Maff made his in-ring return, defeating Chris Battlein the main event.  Paul Crockett & Jon Roy are back on commentary this week.

Match 1: “Club Cam” Cam Zagami (Tony Vega & Nikii Duke) vs Gio Galvano

Cam needs to pre-game the match and takes a swig from a flask. Gio gut kicks him and Cam spews everywhere. Big hip toss & scoop slam from Galvano. Tony Vega immediately hits the ring. The ref calls the match off but Cam & Vega are double teaming Gio in the corner. Thrillride hits the ring to run the off and save Gio. Thrillride grabs a mic and challenges those two to “take it from average to absolute savage” in a tag match.

Winner: Gio Galvano (by DQ)

Match 2: “The Messiah of Old School” Shawn Donavan vs Ichiban

Ichiban didn’t get an entrance. Buckle up, kid. Donavan drives Ichiban into the corner and beats him corner to corner. Ichiban hits a dropkick and a few leg kicks but he gets shoulder blocked and stomped. Big elbow drop for two. Big stalling vertical suplex but Ichiban still has life in him. Big spinebuster. Running corner elbow, knee to the face, huge lariat. Ichiban can’t answer the count. Donavan has that brute aggression that will make a nice dance partner for the NEW champ. And like they read my mind, they announce Donavan is having a match agains Dan Maff at the upcoming Spring Slam show!

Match 3: Vita Von Starr vs Basic Becca

A rematch from a few episodes ago, Becca looking to get her revenge on the Righteous one. Becca fights out of an early piledriver. Becca coming out aggressive with corner strikes and a handspring slap with a bulldog chase. Vita catches a crossbody and hits a fall away slam. Vita choking her on the middle rope. Starr with a standing moonsault that crunches Becca for two. Suplex with a bridge for two. Starr is screaming in frustration as she drops clubs to the back. Becca flips out of a slam, big basic german. Becca hitting a few clotheslines and a powerslam on her larger opponent for two. Becca with a crossbody off the top but Vita kicks out. Vita tries a powerbomb but Becca with a sunset flip for two. Vita tries again and hits that sitout powerbomb for the three count. This was a significantly improved match from their previous contest.

Winner: Vita Von Starr

A video trip down memory lane to “NEW: Over The Top” from April 2019. Cody Rhodes, SCU, Billy Gunn & Darby Allin were all featured on this show. Unfortunately, it looks like they let Jared Silberkleit have a live mic but thankfully they had some music in the retro video to drown out his awful weasel-like voice.

Match 4: Zachariah Gibbs vs Dutch (w/ Vita Von Starr)

Gibbs wants a test of strength. Dutch just asks to be punched. Gibbs throws three AND a dropkick. They do nothing. Dutch hits a clotheline, a big chop and another. Vita is laughing at ringside. Dutch with a fireman’s carry flapjack. Gutwrench powerbomb. Dutch isn’t making a cover. Rip code boss man slam and Gibbs is VERY down for the three. That was murder. At Spring Slam, Dutch gets a real test against Wrecking Ball Legursky. Well, I like THIS.

Winner: Dutch

Main Event: “The Rhode Island Lion” Nico Silva vs Matias

Some good chain wrestling to start this off. This isn’t explicitly a #1 contender’s match but one might think a win here in the main event could put them in line for a shot at one of the champions. Nico pulling at the arm and shoulder on the Matt. Matias with a good arm drag and gets some shoulder work of his own. Both try arm wringers but they each have creative ways to flip out. Matias with a dropkick and running high knee. Nico lets Matias gut himself on the top turnbuckle and hits a back suplex for two. Nico with a slam and standing moonsault for a near fall. Matias fighting back with uppercuts and a dropkick but gets caught running with a huge lariat. Nico throwing some clubs to the head and grinds Matias down with a headlock. Nico tries another lariat but Matias with flying forearms, enziguris, a spinning head scissors and a flying knee for two. Matias heads to the top but Nico shoves the ref into the rope, Matias crotches himself on the buckle. Nico uses the advantage to try a superplex. Matias fights it off, tries a swanton, misses. Nico with a falcon arrow and gets the three! Very solid match between these two. Liked this.

Winner: Nico Silva

And that’s it for Episode 14, out final episode before Spring Slam. This episode flew by. Some short matches that set up title matches for Spring Slam but also a good main event. Next episode of Studio Wars, we get Gio Galvano & Thrillride vs Club Cam & Tony Vega, Steven Stetson vs Mike Gamble and...oh my! Waves & Curls & Mike Verna vs The Trust Fund. Until then!
